Sooo I'm back at RIT. No classes yet, but they are coming soon. In the meantime, I've been laying around like a viscous liquid in my apartment, playing racquetball when I can muster the adhesion and cohesion necessary to pull myself into a solid state, and working. So life is good. I actually like my job (for example, I'm getting paid to put 2 kayaks on my car (already worth my time just to see it) and then to go kayaking for like 2 hours). How brilliant is that?!? Anywho, the apartment is good, chilling with Ralph is always amusing, and it's been good to see people as they get back.
In non-RIT life related news, I already miss all of you guys/gals/things who are for some odd reason, NOT chilling with me. What's the deal here?
For those unaware of my recent life, summer=ridiculous-ness-iosity. I determined that I never slept in the same place for more than 2 consecutive weeks all summer. Crazy crazy stuff. I had many adventures, although thankfully not many misadventures.
Music-wise, it's been a pretty non-exciting summer, though. I missed out on more than I picked up on. Some notable finds were the Album Leaf Green Tour EP (which is amazing by the way), The album "Mirrored" by Battles was quite enjoyable, and one of the new Architecture in Helsinki singles ("Heart It Races") rocks my socks. Also, Mika's song "Grace Kelly" is a crack pipe of enjoyment.
And this only scratches the surface. So many ridiculous things happened this summer. Julie, my often companion through my adventures, has mentioned more than a few. Notable quotes/conversations/situations included:
-Shakira's hips determining whether or not crops would grow in 3rd world countries
-The Cape Cod mafia conversing in Chad-esque slang
-Deodorant made from crack
-The Black-Eyed Peas needing speech therapy ("I'm gonna g-g-g-go to speech therapy")
-Bonus points for amounts of either "junk in the trunk" or "ass inside them jeans"
-If I may quote myself, I was proud of this one: "You take off your pants for one minute and everything goes to hell"
-Making stupid noises throughout the entire Howe Caverns tour
-"...I LOVE gatorade!...."
-Matt the sound guy at the Cape Playhouse running around at midnight putting coffee mugs over sprinkler heads yelling hysterically the whole time.
-"Rugby SMASH!"
-(okay this isn't from the summer, but on a similar note from RIT last spring..."Kratos Read!") (the present tense verb)
-Dan Jentzen- "Oh, I took some hilarious pictures of you sleeping this morning"
-Coneheads. It's a movie. You should watch it.
Moving on, the new Jet Li/Jason Statham flick "War" is NOT, I repeat NOT worth seeing. It's worse than any of their individual movies. I was severely disappointed. 'Nuff said. Shoot 'em Up, coming out on the 7th with Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti, and Monica Bellucci on the other hand, still looks poised to totally rock my brains out.
Soooo yeah. I've been attempting to keep up with the new season of Psych, and it's good. I also just realized that I've been missing the new season of Eureka, which will hopefully be just as good.
I just bought myself 2 shirts off the internet! One is called "pandamonium", and is generally cool. The other is a green shirt that simply says "Pickles are cucumbers soaked in EVIL". I got a major kick out of that.
So yeah. Life is good for now. I'm no longer crazy like I was for a brief stint or two this summer, and I am feeling generally great.
Woohoo!
I also like waffles.

Music Recommendation:
Architecture in Helsinki-Heart it Races
Just give this one a chance. It's a little odd and such, but it quickly grows on you and gets stuck in your head. I'm not usually a huge huge fan of these guys, but this track is great. Seriously.
Peace!
