In Darwin's Black Box, Michael Behe originally coined the term "irreducible complexity", one of the cornerstones of the "theory" of intelligent design. In his argument, he makes the analogy of a mousetrap: If you take any of the pieces of a mousetrap away (spring, base, hammer, catch), the mousetrap no longer works. (And so it couldn't have been made by bits over time, as the resulting partial mousetraps wouldn't have been viable) Well, many people have, in addition to refuting his other arguments, refuted his mousetrap one. While the mousetrap seems to be too complex to make work with fewer parts, John H. McDonald showed that you indeed can.

Now, every scientist needs to get an interview in Time magazine and in the newspaper and tell people that they don't believe in this bunk, and why.
