kaequest and
kyttle were kind enough to post pictures of the kittens while I was in PA with a laptop with a dead video cable. Now that I am back home with kittens and have spent 5 days with them I wanted to give everyone more information on them. I am going to keep the names
kaequest has chosen to keep things simple. All of the kittens have been litter box trained and are very good. We only had an accident on the way up when they were in crates and when they first got here and I didn't show all 8 the new potty. So please let me know if you know of anyone looking for kittens. I have already have 4 cats and there is no room at the Inn.
Rumer and Bernadette -
These two are younger than the other 6 by 2 weeks and were born on my mothers back porch on April 22. They are quite accustomed to being around people.
Rumer - the calico is a little sweetie, she is the most tame of all the kittens and also the smallest. She is a lover of naps, and not much will disturb her from her slumber. She is smaller than the others and will go find herself a nice place to nap away from everything and won't come out until she well rested and ready to move. She likes to play with string and be held. I just realized in every picture I have of her she is napping
Bernadette - She is a she, or at least I am 99% sure she is, I have checked at least 4 times but I keep calling her a him, apparently my subconscious is convinced otherwise. She is more shy than her sister but likes to come out and play with the dancing string. She is not afraid of people but she does not trust them either. It feels like she wants to cuddle up and nap on your lap but she is not 100% convinced of the idea. I think that in time she will make a great lap cat.
The other 6 are from the same liter born we are guessing 2 weeks earlier than the previous 2 born on April 22. They were not born on the porch, but the mother cat dropped them of on my moms porch at about 6 weeks old.
Moon Unit and Diva Muffin
These are the two all black kittens I would be lying if I said I could tell them apart without picking them up and flipping them over to check the plumbing to be sure. The male is not nearly as trusting as the female and he needs some convincing to be held. If you are looking for an independent cat who likes to play and entertain himself he is the cat for you. The female is more friendly while still a bit shy. After their ordeal of being picked up, washed, placed in a crate for the first time, and driven in a car for 8 hours... she took a good 4-5 hours to come out of hiding and play.
Monkey and Cheeky
These are the two mostly black spotted with white. Monkey is the boy and cheeky is the girl. Cheeky has a HOME!!! Monkey is still looking and he is a great cat, my mom had a hard time letting go of him. He has more personality than most kittens. He would sneak into my moms house to be near the people and snoop around, while the others were way to shy to even try such a maneuver. He is loves to be held and has quite the purrr. He loves to climb and be near the people, after the kitten ordeal he was the first to come out of hiding and check out his new surroundings. He is a little love monster and while I do what I can to find them all good homes, I really will do my best to find him a place that appreciates his antics.
And this is for cheeky's new owner... who is away and has to wait a few days to pick her up.
Tallulah is the most striking calio of the three. I have started calling her little Landsknecht because several of her orange spots are stripes and only and Landsknecht would mix spots and stripes so aesthetically. She is NOT trusting of people but that does not stop her from playing near them, or playing with the string that they are moving for her, she is just not so sure about this picking her up thing. She has proven herself a huge fan of the milk ring and has spent hours batting and carrying it around. She will make a great pet for someone who wants an independent cat who can entertain herself and takes great photos. I suspect she secretly wants to be lovely but doesn't want all the other cats to know.
Scout has a HOME!!! She is a female and very friendly calico who loves to play as well. Here are some photos for her new owner who is currently out of town. She is very camera shy and I only have ones of her that have Tullulah as well.
