The staying power of love

I hate when my friends break up. And I hate it for almost purely selfish reasons.

I get used to these people being a unit. I think of them as Jane and John, not Jane period John period. It screws up everything and I have a very small group of people I count as friends to begin with. Then one of them gets snarky about the other and people take sides (something I absolutely refuse to do) and if they have kids it's even worse. Why can't people just talk it out and get over it already?

I realize that I'm oversimplifying things a bit, but that's what my husband and I do. If something sucks, we make it unsucky or we deal with it, together.

I just don't like to see my friends hurting. I want them to be in love and happy again. Plus, it's easier for me to be friends with "couples" rather than individual people, because then the four of us can go out and have fun.

Yeah, break ups and divorces just pretty much suck. period
