Sunday night we inflated the air bed and made it up.
I climbed in and started to settle out.
Shadow, who is a doppleganger of the cat I had as a kid (Thumper), walked to the head of the bed.
I had an arm laying next to my head at a right angle (like the Right turn hand signal).
I put out a finger to see if she wanted scritches, she did. duh.
She then proceeded to curl up with her hind feet trapping my arm and with her face just a couple inches from mine.
(I'm a bit allergic to cats. It has been getting better lately but still...)
She purred the obscene purr that some cats can produce.
She eventually stuck her face under my pillow and purred under my ear.
We both slept like that for hours.
Eventually I woke and moved my arm. She objected and left.
a little later Hawk woke with his legs pinned by Shadow.
A bit after that I woke to hear purring at the foot of the bed between Hawk and I.
It was nice to have her being social with me. It has been a while.
She is ~14 years old. She adopted the house and showed up when Steve and J moved in 12 years ago.
