Ban the book - save the world!
OK, the subject line is a little melodramatic, but hey - if it gets peoples attention
Phone books are a blight on our world. They waste huge amounts of water and energy to produce and distribute, are difficult to recycle (not that the majority make it that far anyway) and are just pointless...
Living near a county boundary I tend to get two phone books (North Wales / Chester and Chester / Wirral), two Yellow Pages and two Thompson directories. Worse, I live on a corner so often I get two sets of everything as the people who deliver to one road don't talk to the people who deliver to the the other ;(
Not one of the phone books delivered to my house in the last ten years has ever been opened except to strip the wrapper off so I can dump them in the recycling bin; if I need a number I look it up online!
