She woke up in a bed this time. Which was, of course, a thousand times better than waking up in one of those metal boxes in the morgue. Chloe took a deep breath - the first she had taken in hours - and turned her head, finding her best friend watching her. His eyes looked blue today, and they were focused steadily on her, worry evident in their depths.
She took a shaky breath. "Clark, I had to," she began. He sighed, reaching out to take her hand.
"I know," he said quietly, then gently squeezed her hand. "Welcome back."

He found her sleeping in his bed. It surprised him, of course, then he remembered that she was supposed to be coming over to do research he'd asked for. The research must have run late, too late for her to drive home, and since she'd had no clue he would be coming back tonight, she had stayed. Oliver found that he didn't mind that Chloe had taken his bed - he could easily sleep on the couch - but what worried him (or perhaps intrigued him) was how little it bothered him.
And how much he liked seeing her there.

His bed was too small for two people. Or maybe he was simply too big. It didn't really matter. She was scared and upset and had been through hell, and he was afraid to let her go. Afraid that if he let her go, he'd discover that this wasn't real, that he hadn't saved her. It was foolish, he knew she was really there, but he just couldn't shake the fear. So Clark held Chloe close, listening to the sound of her heartbeat and assuring himself she was okay, and he ignored the fact that his bed was too small.

"Humans do not sleep in beds at these... slumber parties?" Kara asked slowly, and Chloe shook her head.
"Mostly no. They stay up late, they watch movies, eat too much food, and they usually sleep in sleeping bags in the middle of the floor instead of beds," Chloe told the other girl. Kara frowned.
"I have a lot to learn about humans," she said, then frowned at the television screen. "Do men usually try to kill the girls that go to these slumber parties?" she asked, and Chloe winced a little.
Maybe she should have put in a different movie.
