Lois was on a rant, Clark concluded as she passed him several files. “Clark, I know you don’t want to admit it but you’re not moving on,” Lois told him as she piled another folder on top of him.
“Clearly,” Clark replied dryly.
“Oh yeah? Then why haven’t you moved back into your room? Slept in your own bed, trust me no one gives that up without a reason,” Lois said with folded arms.
“There was a termite problem,” Clark said seriously and Lois rolled her eyes.
“One of these days you’ll have to figure out what you want, Clark.”

If only to spite Lois, Clark laid down on his bed, staring at the ceiling. The night was hot, hotter than it had been in a while. Covers flung over one side of the bed, Clark was sweating in his t-shirt and shorts. Determination caused more droplets of sweat to bead on Clark’s brow as he refused to concede defeat and get out of bed.
Lois flicked the light and almost blinded Clark. “Ice cream? Nice and cool…”
Clark bit his lip until it was red, “No, thanks.”
“Clark, if you’re having to work this hard, it’s clearly not working.”

Lana couldn’t hide anymore; her secret, her obsession was out in the open. With power coursing through her veins, she tried to do what Clark failed to do. End Lex Luthor, the source of her pain, even the source of his. But when Lex kissed her, for a moment it was easy to forget. Passion flared and she missed it, Clark was too afraid or maybe he just didn’t want her like that anymore.
Then she remember the previous afternoon, dedicated to exploration of their relationship and whatever she had felt dissolved.
Lex was the past, Clark was the future.

But tonight she felt vulnerable, she had thought Oliver was the Green Arrow only to have her hopes dashed with a kiss. Lois realised that the distrust would hang around longer than the implications of a kiss. Hugging Ollie’s silk sheets around her, Lois picked up her cell from the floor.
Dialling a familiar number, Lois put the phone to her ear, “Hey, yeah sorry to wake you. I was wondering if you‘d come get me?”
Clark replied, slightly groggy, “Sure.”

“Sure,” Lois picked it up and walked into the bedroom. Tissues were strewn about the room, the bin decidedly empty, Lois quirked an eyebrow.
“Could I have some ice cream please?” Chloe asked with big eyes and a warm smile.
“Okay, but isn’t Jimmy supposed to be doing this?” Lois asked.
Truth is, Chloe’s demands ran Jimmy off 20 minutes ago.
