OK so Christmas with a 4 1/2 year old is serious business, and seriously fun! The MOST fun ever! We took Cameron to Toys 'r Us and got a 'clicker' and allowed him to roam the store (with us right behind him, of course) looking for what he wanted on his Christmas list. He clicked away at lots of things and some we had not thought about. At the end you take the clicker back to the desk and they give you a print out of the list, with prices, and a couple pages of cards you can send out to relatives - just like a wedding list for adults. Pretty funny but actually was cool for Cameron. He saw toys he hadn't a clue existed and until Christmas was major still in Thomas the Tank Train mode. No Thomas the Tank this year. He now thinks he is too big and is into the super heroes and action figure types such as Fantastic Four and Power Rangers, Super Man, Batman, Pirates.....Spiderman. (Pretty funny as we 'olden's had just learned many of the engines names - finally) Now we have several Thomas the Tank clothing items that still have to be worn although we are also adding the super heroes to the list. (one of my internet friends hit a HOME RUN with her gift, she sent him a Castle -the Imaginext Castle that he went ape over) It is soooo cute.) The funniest part of that was when it arrived I was in FULL ON Christmas mode and didn't even look at the return address - I did open the box and look inside and wondered when I had ordered the castle.....after the fact I felt so dumb because she called and asked if her gift had arrived and I told her no so she was giving Amazon.com some huge grief! By the time Amazon had searched and found that "an adult female" had accepted the package I had discovered the 'Big ooops on my part' but Cameron still LOVES playing with it....that's the good part even though I embarrassed myself...
We spent Christmas in a hotel in Columbus...don't ask......but it was actually fun with the indoor pool and the jacuzzi plus having meals out was also good. We took Christmas with us and Santa found us in Columbus. Luckily the hotel had a chimney and fireplace. We assured Cameron that the fire would be out in time for Santa to make his arrival and bring his gifts to our room...and it apparently was because when Bopbop went out to the car, there were the gifts which Santa had left and he promptly brought them all in and it only took a few trips...less trips without the packaging for the return trip home.... It was a cold Christmas, really, really cold this year.
Cameron also received several interactive learning toys that are down in the lower level but he is enjoying everything very much...
MOre later...
christmas...gifts,
santa..
