Well, not much has changed with the fairly recent (and currently ongoing) unhappiness with my job.
I've had a few calls, been to an interview, but none have panned out as of yet. So, obviously, I've been a bit more stressed than usual about the job.
This weekend, Jack and I both had been fighting off a nasty cold, which made things worse. My depression always hits harder when my defenses are down.
All of those things made me realize that I needed to do something nice for myself. I knew that I needed something special to help pull me out of this funk.
So, Saturday, Jack and I (still being sick, but also having cabin fever) decided to do some shopping. I'd decided that I wanted either a new tattoo or a piercing.
Ok, so that sounds a bit rash. Here are some reasons why I chose those avenues:
1) I have more clothes than I do space for them, so that would have been a silly purchase.
2) I also have more shoes than I know what to do with.
3) I don't use make-up often, and I have enough to last me the rest of my life!
4) I don't wear a lot of jewelry, and my belly-button ring collection is quite expansive.
5) I've been working my ass off in a job where my boss treats me like shit, and I get no joy or satisfaction from the work I do.
6) I deserved to spoil myself a bit.
Seeing as I didn't have enough money to get a new tattoo (which I've been thinking very carefully about, and know exactly what I want), I settled on getting a nose piercing.
I figured that a nice, small nose stud would look pretty on me, and it would satisfy my need to do something strictly for ME.
Now, I have a tiny diamond stud in my nose. I friggin' love it! The pain was minimal, and it suits my face well.
So, that's my story. Fun, huh?
