Today is my first day using my "stress diary." It's an exercise in the workbook that Bob (my social worker) recommended for me. It looks very much like this:
Stress Awareness Diary
Date __________ Day of the Week ______________
Time Stressful event Symptom
____ ________________________________ ________________
And so on and so forth. There are about 21 lines that can be used for each field. Does that make sense? I get it, but I can see it.
Anyways, I've already filled up most of the "entry" for today. And I still have several hours left. I have about 20 minutes left at work, and then I have band practice. We haven't practiced in a while, so I'm a bit anxious to see how things go. Ahh, one more line to fill in my stress diary.
There are exercises that I'm supposed to do later on. I have to rate my overall stress level before the relaxation exercise and then again after the exercise. This should be interesting.
I'm supposed to keep the journal for at least 2 weeks, and see if there are any noticeable changes. Wish me luck!
