Dear Inland Revenue,
Thank you for writing to me (again). I note that this form is somewhat shorter and more to the point than the other seven forms that I have filled in for you in the past six months. However, I hope that you will understand my frustration. However many times you send me a form with a vaguely threatening header, it will not change the fact that I was overseas from June 03 to November 04 and do not owe you any tax for that period. Sorry guys, but I don't. I really was abroad. I wasn't working for a UK company, I wasn't claiming benefits, I wasn't using the NHS. I'm going to keep putting that on the forms just as long as you keep sending them.
