I've been baking cakes for the enemy

Today, I went on a quest for a job. I have a license now, it's time.

I had some places in mind, places I'd really like to work, but it seems that the entire world only hires people over 18. Torrid wasn't accepting any applications, and the girl seemed kind of facey. I went to Lane Bryant and asked if there were any open positions. The girl lit up and got out the application pad, then I asked "Wait, do you have to be 18 to apply?" I guess they do. She seemed more disappointed than me, she said "Come back when you're 18! I was going to give you an application before you even said anything, you look 18!" So yeah, that was disappointing but nice to hear.

I tried LB, Torrid, Fashion Bug, etc. I guess it's just an all around policy. To me, a job should be something you really care about and want to do, something you know will help someone. That's why I want to work at a plus store, because I have an eye for style and I've been there. Clothes shopping can be really stressful and a big damper on the ol' self esteem. Like, some women can't even think about walking into a plus store. I want to make it as easy for them as possible, help them out, and make a difference. It seems like a job I'd really love. Oh well.

Nitpicking is not the way to go, I suppose. I'm going to have to go for a place that hires any living, breathing 16 year old. You have to go for that crappy job just for a few months so you can get experience and make future jobs easier to nab. Thing is, I'm picky. I have to want to work at that establishment. I don't want to work fast food (I'd actually prefer not to work with any food. Ew smell.), no Albertsons, no Blockbuster near my house (where everyone you come in contact with hates your guts because they kept a movie too long). I guess Walgreens takes 16 year olds and applications, I wouldn't mind working there. It's just across the street from Albertson's, which gets all the business. The quiet atmosphere of Walgreens could preserve my sanity. I've just gotta suck it up and start from the bottom.

Oh, I went to graduation. I hate the BSU Pavillion (I REFUSE to call it Taco Bell Arena) seats. Hate hate H8! But yeah, it was nice. I'm so proud of my good ol' senior buddies indeed. And my head hurts. Tired.

Done.
