christmas bells are ringing

I had a huge Urusline flashback this morning... I got my
grade for the semester and even though my GPA for the term was around a 3.7 I was STILL disappointed that it wasn't higher.

My new favourite actress is Irene Dunne.   Turner Classic Movies has been playing her movies nonstop lately and I think she's absolutely gorgeous.   For when the movies were made she is a very assertive woman and she has this stoic quality about her that I think is hard to come by in Hollywood.

The movie I'm watching right now has a little girl in it who is the cutest!  when she's a year old or so all she does is giggle and she has the best reactions!  I don't know how they did it.  She's making me miss my nephew even more now.  He comes home in two days which is the most exciting thing thats happened in quite awhile.  He had his first birthday yesterday, and if he couldn't be with us then I'm glad that he got to have a party with fifty of his relatives in India.

I see a surgeon on January fourth.  Keep your fingers crossed that I don't need another surgery  :-\   Well at least this time I'd have a lot of House episodes on my computer :-p

I'm excited for next semester.  I dropped my psych major because I realized that I don't really like it.  The department is pretty elitest and I'd have to take a lot of redundant courses with my sociology major.  This way I will have a lot more freedom on IS and I can take classes that I'm more interested in rather than another research methods course or a second Junior IS.  So, this semester I'm taking:

MWF:  11:00   Education in a Sociocultural Context
2:00   Advanced Statistics- taught by Professor Nurse who is wonderful.  (this will be good because my psych stats course taught me NOTHING but I still got an A-)

TR:   2:30 Political Movements and Collective Action... I'm glad to be taking a course outside of my major or requirements again.

Thursday night 7-10 Healthcare Disparities, taught by a Cardiologist in Wooster as part of the Africana Studies Department.  I think I might be most excited for this one, he hasn't really taught any undergrad classes so he'll probably be pretty challenging.

So all in all I'm doing pretty well.  As soon as my exploding colon gets sorted out everything will be perfect.  Christmas is soon, and its always been my favorite holiday.  If anyone is in Cincinnati let me know, I will be in town until January 15th or so, assuming I don't have surgery or anything.  Muah!   :-*
