This time Claire made cry. Ok, and Frank. Yeah, poor Frank. He certainly didn't have it easy. Claire is not her best self with him. Ever. Though I feel she did try. I can't help but think that if only Frank had acted a little differently on some key moments and they could have had... well, they could have had a loving friendship at least.

Hmm. I think you'd be sympathetic to Frank. I am. The dude got a shitty deal and that's just a fact. Frank and Claire did love each other when it all starts even if they had grown apart because of WWII.

But... it doesn't take away my love for Jamie, or the romance of Jamie and Claire. I found it impossible not to fall for him. I wasn't sure I was going to like him cause I had seen pics of him and thought meh, I don't see the appeal. But that was before I started watching the show. And that's despite Jamie is seemingly a walking romance cliché. He's just such a hero and seems to know exactly what to say in every situation. (He makes mistakes too though) It should be so cheesy but I fell for it. It's just so romantic! And he's so cute and a bit awkward in season 1.

Frank is only really in the story in episode 1 and then in a few flashback glimpses here and there whenever Claire remembers something in season 1. Then he's back in a fast foward episode in 2x01 and in the last episode 2x13.

It's only now in season 3 we get to see Frank and Claire try to make a living together and yeah, the show has focused more on Frank's POV I feel. And Claire is not looking her best I must say. But also, you can't fake love can you? And Jamie became so much more to her than Frank ever was. Love of her life, soul mate and all that. Unfortunately so much is skipped of their 20 years together. These 3 episodes have been very condensed. Lots of story, not the time to tell it. I've felt a bit rushed compared to the other 2 seasons. But I think they've done what they can to press in book 3 in 13 episodes so I understand, it's just a shame there's not 16 episodes like in the first season.

Claire is a very strong and independent woman, even for her time let alone in the 18th century. There's clashes obviously because of that. She's fierce and very brave. Especially in season 1 we get the story from her POV. From what I've seen the issue to me seem to be that book readers think the show made Frank too sympathetic and it put Claire in a bad light. And that has nothing really to do with Team Frank vs Team Jamie.
