Memoirs of [Matt's] A Phone Call anonymous June 24 2003, 16:43:53 UTC
I got a call last night from a certain friend saying that because I thought something he did was rude, that Suzanne somehow manipulated me to think that. "Brainwashing" he said.

Welp -- It's definitely not "brainwashing", suz, simply because our thoughts on a certain behavior by a certain person happen to be the same.

This person (who said that I'm allowing myself to submit to your supposed "brainwashing") just doesn't seem to realize that it's simply a COMMON SENSE RESPONSE -- and that anyone would have the same reaction. I'll elaborate:

Let's just say that someone's cell phone rings during an event. You are the host or guest at a party -- who has now just lost a cell-phone-face-off to that caller, as this function is ongoing (like, for argument's sake, a graduation party).

Then this happens: Let's just say, for argument's sake (of course), that this person then remains on the phone for a good period of the time (like -- say, 30 minutes). The only LOGICAL deduction is very simply, this:

"It's rude."

I will add that this is not the FIRST time this rude cell phone behavior has happened. Nor will it be the last -- because this person does not recognize this rudeness.

So to the person claiming that suz is doing brainwashing and that I am submitting to such behavior, I say this: Talk to people on your own time -- not at a party where your friends are. It's rude and insulting to all of the people there. Thank you.
