Cooking for myself

The Writer's Block question of the day on the home page is "When was the last time you cooked for yourself and what did you make?" Good question, and so very relevant since I would have to think about it. It wasn't today. Or yesterday. Thursday? No, not then either. Wednesday! I used the leftovers from the fridge and mixed leftover marinara sauce with the leftover couscous and laid leftover fish (basa) on top of that, sprinkled it with cheese and baked it. It was quite tasty.

But Thursday was the RISE awards, and we had to eat out between that and work. We had a quick bite of hummous and pita, and bean soup at a Greek restaurant on Rice Howard Way. Friday was Colin's farewell lunch, because it was his last day. (This has seriously been one drawn out farewell. We have managed to make it last about two weeks now. We are having another farewell lunch next Thursday, I believe, at La'Shish.) So, the teachers went to El Rancho, where we saw everyone we knew, since it's the only good restaurant near work. Then, someone stopped by the bakery on the way back to the office and by the time I got home, I couldn't think of supper. I had a glass of milk before bed and that was it.

Today, Saturday, we did our usual. We slept in, and then got up and headed out to Steve's classroom, stopping by Smitty's for eggs, pancakes and coffee on the way. We spent the afternoon working on our computers at school, and then stopped by our favourite Asian restaurant out that way (Bak Hauk). I had tofu in sauce, and sushi rolls. Steve had a bento.

I really have no explanation for why the kitchen is such a mess.
