Strange Dreams

I had an odd dream last night. I dreamt that there were two horses. One had a yellow towel over his head, obscuring the view of the source of the stream of blood running down it's neck. He turned, and an alligator's tail was seen protruding from under the towel. There was a crunching sound, and the towel melted away, revealing the green beast munching on the horse's exposed brain. The horse's eyes grew wide for a moment, then it opened it's mouth and started laughing hysterically, sounding exactly like a crazed human man. The laughing sounded painful and forced, as if the horse knew he was dying, but for the life of him couldn't figure why and had no control over the laughing at all. The horse next to it stared, then started laughing as well, obviously finding the fact that his friend was slowly dying in a state of insanity extremely funny.
As I woke I could still hear the laughing of the two horses, though faintly, even as I opened my eyes to see the room around me. I stared at the portrait of a girl in an old-fashioned blue dress on the wall, and she turned and pointed at me, laughing just as the second horse had been laughing at his dying friend. A Purple Lioness ran through the wall like a ghost and sat next to me, tilting her head in confusion. "What's *her* problem?" she asked me, flicking a paw at the portrait. I shrugged.
I suddenly found myself going down a winding staircase to a room with the portrait still in it. The previous scene replayed only I was not the only one in the room. An Egyptian girl in old Egyptian garb was leaning down to whisper in my ear. She was smiling as she said, "I wonder when the Lioness eats us?" as if it were something she was looking forward to very much. I smiled back at her. As I smiled she looked offended at it, then pouted and disappeared.
Hearing the horse's laughter once again, everything went black. The crunching sound resumed, and the insane horse went silent, but his friend still laughed.
I woke up.

I have no idea what this means. I've had lots of odd dreams like this, but none so vivid and clear. No, I wasn't taking any drugs at the time.
