My Story of the Week

Apr 18, 2006 22:11

So, a little while ago, my mother's cousin (Uncle Tom), forwarded me a succession of e-mails that told of the quest of one of my distant cousins to find my e-mail adress, as he wanted to go to Oberlin.

To quote: "Susanna is Aunt Pearl's granddaughter. She is studying music there. I think she is violinist... Susanna Paulo is her name, She grew up in NY City . I don't have email address, but I will cc Uncle Tom Redick and maybe he does...."

To lol.

But, after e-mailing David and telling him, that, well, I'm actually not in the con, but I can give you the e-mails of some people who are, and I think Oberlin is cool, here's what it's like... blahblahblahOrganPumps blahblahblahRestaurantsInTown blahblahblahTheApollo blahblahbalhI'mReallyACreativeWritingMajor.

I got an e-mail back that basically went: OMG Ur teh Cr34tiv3 WR!T!NG!!! !'M teh Cr34tiv3 WR!T!NG!!!!! TH!5 R0XX0R5!
Except Dave is actually literate and cool not like that at all. (actually, he looks more like Chase than anything else)

So, he visited today, with his mom, and I showed them around campus before their tour, and took David to lunch with me to sample some Oberlin cuisine. And at the end, his mom offered to drive me anyplace I needed to go, and buy me things that I need. And I told her I don't really need anything, but thank you very much! And she said, well, I figured that you didn't get an Easter basket, so I got you some things. And she handed me two bags. I thanked her for them.

Then I got back to my room and actually looked inside. She'd gotten me a bar of chocolate, a chocolate bunny, a white chocolate lamb, cookies with peanuts and chocolate chips, and a bag of jelly bellys.
How cool is that?! Peggy has the chocolate bar, I'm currently enjoying the jellies, and the rest of the chocolate is here for anyone who wants it. Spread the love people.

PS. Rick was eating a peanut butter and banana open-faced matzo sandwich today, and it rocked my world.
