Maia's room, Tuesday afternoon/evening (for fandomhigh)

Aug 08, 2006 17:15

Ivanova balanced the pizza box in one hand, the bottle of pop - she was not having alcohol anywhere near this evening, thank you very much - dangling from the fingers of the same hand as she raised a hand to knock at the door to Maia's room.

Let's try this again.

Maia turned down the music and hurried to open the door. "Hey." She said with a smile, "Need help?" She said as she opened the door up wider to admit Susan and her pizza.

Ivanova waved her free hand airily as she weaseled the door open and stepped inside. "No, no, I'm just working on developing a prehensile tail."

"Among your other talents." Maia said with a laugh. She ducked down behind the little kitchen island to grab some paper plates. "What kind did you get?" Maia said practically bouncing. She loved pizza, any kind made her happy.

"The works," Ivanova replied, grinning a little self-deprecatingly. "I didn't know what you liked." She set the pizza down and watched Maia with a little smile on her face.

"Oh I like everything." She gushed, "So..." She said as she grabbed some glasses for the pop. "What's to what do I owe the pleasure of your company and pizza?" She said, the smell of the pizza was overwhelming and Maia was starving.

"I need a reason?" Ivanova affected an offended moue. "I'm hurt."

Maia laughed, "Of course not. I think not having a reason is the best reason of all." She said winking at Susan before starting to pour the soda out into the glasses. "By the way, thanks for getting me back here the other night and staying."

Ivanova laughed. "After getting you into that state, it was the least I could do." She smirked. "For my wobbly little ass-slapping pancake damsel in distress."

"Well you know..." Maia turned about three shades of red, "When the knight rescuing the damsel has an ass like yours. I couldn't resist a smack or too." She blushed again, "There were pancakes involved wasn't there?" Maia said, flashes of the evening coming into her memory. "Oh dear, what you must think of that." She said laughing again and shaking her head before she eyed the soda. "Ass slapping free of alcohol yes?" She said before picking up a glass to sip it.

Ivanova was already drinking, which is why she almost choked at what Maia said last. She spluttered and drooled and covered her mouth, coughing as the bubbles went straight up her nose.

"C-come again?"

Maia watched her with amusement. "What I mean to say is, any ass slapping tonight will be un-alcohol related or influenced...if- well if we were to want to ass slap...as it were..." Maia said the last few words slowly with a red face into her glass of soda. "In a purely friendly way of course, damsel to knight spirit you know..." She shut up then giggling into the glass.

"O-okay . . ." Ivanova replied, still a little coughy and bleary-eyed from her unfortunate run-in with carbonation, but managing to smirk. "You don't seem like the kind of person to say 'ass', you know."

Maia nearly fell over at Susan's words. "Don't I?" She said laughing. "I don't usually say things like that." She blushed a little. "Are you the type of person to say that?" She said leaning on the counter peering at Susan now. "Want some water to wash down the bubbles?" She said matching Susan's smirk.

"Me? Oh, I have a terribly filthy mouth," Ivanova informed her seriously, nodding. She shook her head. "No, no, I'm good now. Just needed to remember how to breathe."

Maia grinned at her, her eyes lighting up. "I've always wanted to cuss like a sailor, I never get the words wrapped around right though." She shrugged. "Pizza?" she said as she opened up the top of the pizza box and grinned down at it. "Glad you remembered, though I am pretty confident I could have brought you back. Just a little mouth to mouth you'd be good as new." She said with a wink before pulling a slice of pizza free to put on a plate for Susan.

"You're good at the mouth to mouth," Ivanova teased back dryly. She felt a small twinge of guilt at flirting, but ignored it. It felt good to be with Maia like this and she was going to enjoy it, whether she liked it or not. She took the offered slice and began nibbling.
