Ineng the Geek
Ok, the stuff I'm about to tell you...I didn't make up them up. They actually happened...or rather, they were actually said.
One time, I was helping clear out the table after dinner. Then our household help, whom we like to call "Ineng" suddenly makes a comment about the climate and how incredibly warm it has been for the past couple of months. Which is rather normal since, hello, this is the Philippines and the Philippines has a rather humid climate, right. But then she makes this other remark which totally made me die in fits of giggles. She goes "ang enet ng panahon ano? Botas na kase ang uson liyir natin eh". Whoa...geek alert...even our household help is turning out into a geek hahaha..Geekiness is contagious afterall.
Ineng is becoming famous in my extended family for her one-liners. Before, we were really like, wow where the hell does she get these things. But then if you really look at it, she lives with a house full of geeks. This house is literally "geekville" and Ineng is turning into one. Not that I have a problem with that though. It's fine by me. I mean, it's a good thing, right? So now we're pretty much used to her geeky ways.
But then last night she blurts out another comment, which kinda caught me off-guard. Out of nowhere she blurted out "ati sumale ka nalang kaya sa del or no del, baka sakale doun swirtihen ka. Kasi sa pag-ebeg malas ka eh".
Huwhhhaaatttttt???? Where'd that come from? I think I need to go out and work some place else. Spending too much time with her here at home is driving me nuts. Not that it's a problem or anything. It's just that I think she's starting to figure out how socially retarded I am hehehe.
