Oh, I'm so glad. Marlene said today that I'd be allowed out of my room, so we took a lovely little walk around the garden, even if I did have to lean quite heavily on her, but she said it was alright. I still felt bad, though ( Read more... )

*raps gently on door* Are you awake, miss?

*stirs from where she was lying, curled into a ball* Monsieur McKeon? Yes, I'm awake. It's lovely to see you! You are well, I trust?

I'm about as well as can be expected, Ms. de Tournay. I saw you walking around today, which is a good sign. It's lovely to talk with you again, too.

*beams, still a little palely* Isn't it just! It was most exhausting, but Marlene was very kind and patient with me. I'd missed the sunlight so very much. And it's always lovely to have you stop by, Monsieur. How goes Armand? He's been resting well, I trust? I know he doesn't have the patience for bedrest *laugh*

Well, as we're living in the same house, it would be unusual for me not to visit you once in a while.

Armand is getting a little bit better. He's healing, and he's also been up and about; he's no longer confined to bed. You're right that he has absolutely no patience for bedrest whatsoever.

*warm smile* Well, you know you're welcome any time at all. I'm unlikely to even be deeply sleeping, the way I'm going *shaky laugh*

Oh, that is wonderful to hear. It will be so lovely to have the entire house well again! It's barely been the case since I arrived... But soon we'll all be walking and laughing, I know.

*worried look* Still afraid? I wish there was someone here who could stay with you like I've been doing with Armand. It's hard, with all these comings and goings.

I'd just like the entire house here. *laughs* I'm not sure if anyone realizes I'm here other than you and Armand. We're all getting there. I'm about but I honestly haven't been laughing lately.

*smile* It isn't as bad as it was to start with, and I have my little wooden guardian now, but at night it is still difficult. And in truth, I don't know how long this will last. But really, it is nothing.

Armand told me Margot is here. Percy isn't? I feel I haven't seen either of them in weeks! But then, it's a big house for such few people. So you are more than welcome here *smile* And I'm sure the laughter will return when you don't have invalids to fuss over.

*notices wooden figure* That's interesting. Where did you get that? It's so detailed for such a small thing.

I haven't seen a lot of people in a long time. Other than you and Armand, of course. My friend Andrew LaFollet was supposed to have come, but I am afraid he may have become lost again; in any case, he hasn't found his way here. I haven't had any other visitors, really, not for very long.

I need the fussing! It's a job.

It was one of Puck's figurines. I heard about them, so wrote, asking him to bring them for me to see, and that one caught my eye. Isn't he beautiful *glow*

Andrew LaFollet? Is that the Sir Andrew Armand's been prattling on about? Really, I wish he'd stop. I have no idea who the man is, so how can I be grateful for what he's done?

*laugh* Well, if all goes well, both myself and Armand will be out in the world again before too long, so you'll be out of work, I'm afraid, mon ami. But of course, and I know Armand will agree, you'll always be welcome here.

I must have missed him and his work, sadly. He's quite skilled at it, and yes, it is beautiful.

If my Andrew's done anything for you, I'd be surprised. He's not a knight, for one thing, and for another thing he's been stumbling about here for weeks looking for his lady, who is not, I regret to say, you. You would remember Andrew, anyway; small man with an odd accent who carries guns?

Thank you for your vote of confidence in me. There's always something, though, and if it's not you two there will probably be someone else.

Okay, so it probably wasn't your friend. I just don't see why Armand need go on about it so! But anyway, no, I don't believe I've met your friend.

*laugh* Please! Don't say that. We really don't need another invalid in this house. If nothing else, it would send Armand to his grave with stress.

I'll have to ask Armand who he means, then. There are simply too many Andrews about here. For that matter, there are simply too many Armands.

I didn't mean in this house; I meant in general. I like Armand where he is, thank you, and if I end up collapsing the place will go down like a delicate and beautiful house of cards in the face of a whisper.

Too many Armands? La, the only one I know of here is the one who's lying a-bed down the hall. *laughs* I'm happy with just the one. We don't need more people worrying about every little thing, no matter how much we love them.

Well, don't you go collapsing *smile* That's the last thing we want.

Yes, imagine the place with more than one. Someone made the same comment about having more than one of me around. The odd thing is that the description you gave of him matches me as well. *smiles*

That is exactly what I do not want, which is why I'm marching myself off to my bed. Good night, Ms. de Tournay.

Vraiment? Forgive me for saying, but you don't seem quite as likely to worry yourself sick as dear Armand. *smile* That topic can wait for another day, though.

Dormez bien, Monsieur McKeon. Thank you again for visiting!
