I had been making payments on Migma since October and managed to pay her off a little early, enabling her to be here in time for Christmas!
She departed Santee, California on 1 December and arrived at the sort facility in Los Angeles on 10 December. Departing Los Angeles that day she arrived in Melbourne on 16 December, then was delivered here on 18 December.
I spent that entire period twitching wildly, I'm always nervous when an expensive parcel is expected but it normally doesn't matter because EMS is so damned fast that I never really have that much time to worry. A little different this time!
After much discussion, she has been named Murasaki. Murasaki is the Japanese word for purple 紫 and I think it really suits her. Sometimes I end up with a list of SO many names that have meaning, I certainly did this time, but Murasaki really stood out for me.
Murasaki is Light Violet resin and has all human and bat parts - wings, horns, 'hollow parts', papers, wig, 2 sets of eyes. She is blushed and complete, only missing the outfit and shoes. I now have the outfit on short layaway but no sign of the shoes. I'm not too fussed, I mean I'd like her to be complete, but I'm hardly going to lose sleep over the shoes! I haven't put her wings together yet, but it will be wonderful fun.
One of the usual feline assistants...
It really wasn't a happy looking box!
I must admit that I started to tense up when I saw the repairs
The inner box was fine though
Her sleeping bag
It was a strangely funereal opening actually, the sleeping bag was oddly coffin-like...
She was well-wrapped, plenty of bubble wrap to keep her safe.
I did have a problem with her eyelashes though, they were quite crushed in transit because the faceshield was outside the bubble wrap! Not difficult to repair but annoying.
Her eyes fell in during transit. There's nothing more disconcerting than the empty eye sockets of a new doll staring up at you!
So tall! Such cool feet!
Tonto65 was quick to observe that she had been beautifully blushed, but no nipple blushing! Blushed all over but not there! He was horrified :-)
The bat-like 'Hollow' head - I don't know Soom couldn't have just called it a bat head!
Straight on with the bat head!
All blushed!
Upright!
I'm so glad that she's finally here and she's just perfect! I've taken some outdoor photos of her today which I'll put up shortly, once I've managed to sort through them all!
I hope you like my beautiful Murasaki too :-)
