My work trip!
Today marks a full 8 days since I got back from my recent work trip. One of the Library's vendors sponsored me to attend a conference, the thing that was different was the fact that the conference was in London...
It was a blast but also exhausting. I only had two days to do the tourist thing but by god I made the most of! I took hundreds of photos because there was just so much that I saw and did. I'll put some here but also a link to my Flickr album in case you'd like to see more.
I left here on Sunday 18th November and arrived in the UK on the Monday. Had a quiet Monday in preparation for the conference on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday I visited the Elsevier offices in Kidlington, Oxford and had a tour of the Radcliffe Science Library. Friday was a tour of the British Library and meeting with their document delivery bods. I had the weekend to myself, so I visited the British Museum, Sherlock Holmes Museum, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, St James Park, Green Park, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, MI6... awesome!
I had a wonderful time but it was my first overseas trip and I had no idea what jetlag would be like. Now I know. Ugh.
I'm very glad to be home now - and to be able to sleep through the night again!
