Bit of a treat!

On Monday, I was a guest of ProQuest, one of our Library vendors, at the Australian Open Tennis in Melbourne. They paid to fly us over, tickets to the tennis, fed and watered us. Further to that, I was technically on the clock so I also got paid for the day! It was heaps of fun! I've never really watched much tennis, not being a particularly sporty type, but I had an absolute blast. I've decided I'm just going to enjoy experiences like this when they come up because I won't be in this job forever so I need to make the most of!

The roof takes 25 minutes to close, so they partially closed it because the weather looked grim. By lunchtime we were sitting in full sun and I got a little bit sunburnt!

Robin Soderling

Alexandr Dolgopolov

Dolgopolov speaking with Jim Courier after defeating Soderling. It was a huge upset because Robin Soderling is the World no. 4.

Me, wearing a gleeful grin. I am sober. Really.

Jurgen Melzer

Andy Murray

Billy Connolly came to see Andy Murray play. He's sitting in the second row, above the ANZ symbol, with long white hair.

Victory to Andy Murray

ProQuest do this every year and they always buy their guests something from the merchandise shop as well. It's usually a hat to commemorate the occasion, but I found something better. Fleur knows me well, so she didn't even blink when she bought this...
