this friday sure snuck up on me. cant believe its here. but this weekend will be just like school-with a dbq and essay!
english class today was madddd weird. especially with comments like "transitions!" and "im a giver"
jade-"how are things with that girl? are they going smoothly"
bitt-"its never smooth" AHHHH
all of a sudden, the whole school knows about the bitty pharmacy story. how did that happen?
in chem, we made ice cream. it was so yummy and just made clear the fact that chem is surely my favorite subject. the chem assistance center was such a party today.
on this laptop, we got a wireless mouse. so of course, i tested its wireless abilities by taking the mouse to the other side of the room and using it on the desk over there. anddd it WORKED!!!
today i was talking to meghan about..chinatown? i think. and jenn walked by and overheard and was like
"susan, youre always talking about either 1-asians, or 2-chinese people."
how very true! so the rest of this entry will probably be filled with lots of asian stuff, soo, if youre one of those people that gets mad at me because im chock-ful of asian pride, then...
let me just begin with saying that i finally realized what hans' livejournal screen name stands for. 4zn1nv4zn...ASIAN INVASION. so the kid does have some asian pride after all.
today, work was weird. the cool waiter mike got in a HUGEEE argument with my boss dave behind the counter. i hate dave. so it was nice to see someone yelling at him. they were like screaming at each other, so loudly, and i was like in between them. it was in chinese of course, but i did pick out some parts. mike got really mad and like, slammed his water pitcher down and ran behind the counter. then dave kept screaming FIGHT ME FIGHT ME FIGHT ME! it was so awkward. but definitely one of those things i woulda been laughing my ass off at had i been in the restaurant eating.
so clare told me about this movie she watched in economics about abercrombie and fitch. this asian girl sued them because she worked there and she only got hours before opening and after closing. her lawyer rounded up all these asian people all over the country that had felt discriminated also, and they sued as a group. they won, and got like, millions of dollars. my only problem with this is that i wasnt invited into this lawsuit so i wasnt able to get my share of the money. i have always felt discriminated at that store. they never put the clothes i want on sale. coincidence? i think not. anyways, thats why af has all these expensive designer group clothes, like the ezra fitch collection or w/e it is. with like the 200 dollar jeans and the 50 dollar shirts. well, too bad for them, cuz that is kinda discriminatory. another reason they sued is over this guys shirt that had like those chinese hats on them, and a quote that said "TWO WONGS DONT MAKE A WHITE" i think thats a hilarious shirt. if they still sold it, i would definitely go buy one right this minute. but yeah, its horrible. some people tried to argue that its the companys choice to do whatever they want, and they had the argument about how chinese restaurants basically only hire chinese ppl. but i mean, thats down to skill. of course you gotta have chinese cooks in there cuz caucs wont know how to make chinese food! and its like, part of tthe restaurants atmosphere to have asians there. and yeah. this is pretty insightful.
so..obviously, i think it is discriminatory, but mabe its only cuz im asian
