I let Dan sleep while I went to the Practice of Literary Journalism. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the class. If nothing else, Lesy isn't boring, and he certainly knows how to keep a class moving. Afterwards, Dan and I cuddled until I had to get up and go to my Stream Ecology lab. That, too, was wonderful, and Chris reiterated that she wants to use part of her grant money to fund my research with local electrofishing and stream surveys, plus she really wants to send me to Idaho this summer to do more research on a site there. I literally cannot say enough good things about this woman.
Afterwards, I spent my office hours time talking to Amanda and snuggling with Wes in the Dakin House Office. I love my job. There just is no comparison to how great it is. I had dinner at Saga with Jeff, Wes, Kodee, Tamara, and Julia. We enjoyed each others' company very much.
Then, me, Wes, and Jeff went into Amherst for books and duct tape. They are both sweet, and adorable, and constantly hug me and give me attention. I love them both sooooooo much. People stare whenever we go out, but I don't care. They're my family here.
When we got back, I went over to Lynne's room and we hung out because I've missed her more than I can possibly say. She gets it. She understands. We get each other. It's good.
I was having trouble getting out of her ultra-comfortable chair:
Me: "Lynne, I swear I'm never going to get out of this thing. I'll mummify here.
Lynne: "That's okay. I won't pry you off, as long as I have Suzy in my life, I'm happy."
Allowing my mummified body to occupy her favorite chair for eternity is true friendship. It just doesn't get any better than that.
Now I'm off to Prescott. I'm going to 88 to see Janet, Kate, new gay Sean, and Jeff who's meeting me there. Then I'm going to stop at 89 to see Brennin. Then I'm going back to Merrill to talk to Jkim.
And then Dan will come over and we'll fall asleep to each other breathing and my evening will be complete.
I'm exhausted, but far too happy to care.
