I'm very glad that I wasn't the only one who left this episode with a ball full of questions. I swear, this show can make me feel really dumb.
I didn't think about a phone being in the raffle bag, but that could be right. After last week's festival of Woody creepiness I was thinking that the bag was a prize he had rigged to go to one of the boys. Ew.
If Peter was the one with the bag and Woody gave him the bag with the phone in it to circumvent Peter ratting him out in "the outing of the century" that wasn't much of a plan,
But it would explain why Woody didn't want Gia on the bus. At best he'd protect her from "the outing of the century", at worse, he'd protect her from exactly what happened.
I have now watched the Dick/Veronica scene about 5 times and I cannot decide from the dialogue whether Dick is saying he took the whole bag out of the trash or just the tickets. Because those are two very different scenarios. Also, my point about the bag was it leaves too much to chance (i.e.: the bag not actually getting on the bus.) And re: Cervando's explanation of the crash, the explosion had to be right near the bus driver in order for the bus to go off the cliff. That wouldn't happen if it were randomly left to chance who brought the C4 on the bus and where they put it.
Wow- good thinking. I hadn't twigged that Woody could be the outing of the century. But OTOH, aren't we getting kind of a child molester (or youth molester) vibe from Woody? That's a bit more than an outing...
The last two weeks have been amazing. Their powers of building a mystery are superb, and I am *so happy* to have Wallace back. What a great character!
I am planning to call you tomorrow- what's nap time?
And furthermore- remember last year when I was sure, at this point, that A. Echolls had to be an important part of the solution? This time, 2 people have to be involved in the solution- Woody and Dick (or the Casablancas clan generally).
I <3 Dick and I <3 Beaver, but I DO NOT HEART Woody. Sad, really.
