I've had a small run in with that man who killed the cop.
I dunno weather I mentioned an incident a couple or three weeks ago when I got caught in the middle of two people's domestic dispute while pumping gas at a gas station on South Florida Ave. or not?
Anyway, a heavier set black woman and a slender black jamacian man with dreads were fighting over money and the lady's crack head daughter when she started to beat this guy up. She kept threatening him that she was going to turn him in and he would get sent back to his country. He got up and ran in the 7-eleven to seek shelter and this lady asks me to take her home. Me not thinking at all was like "I guess I could take you home" Meanwhile the cashier inside had dialed the police about the domestic dispute and so when I finished pumping my gas the lady was already sitting in the passenger seat of my car. I guess I thought it would be alright because I've given crazy people rides before back home. Anyway, it is a really scary bad habit that I can't seem to say no to when it happens.
Well, I go to pull out of the gas station and I am immediatly surrounded by 4 police cars. they get out and ask me a couple questions and have her get out and stand at the back of my car, I was hoping they would take her in but they didn't. sooooo, I had to wait for them to finish questioning her because I was blocked in. by then the guy had run off so the cops weren't getting anything. She gave them a name and a description and told the cops he was an illegal immigrant from jamacia. Then after they were done questioning her she went and jumped in my car as I was starting to back out. I was like "Ooooh yea, I said I would take you home." No big deal. I took her home, we talked a bit and she was home safe to her trailor.
I didn't think about it until I saw a picture of the guy on the news today. I just recognized that guy was the same guy the lady beat up at the gas station. I guess you never know who you'll meet on the street.
*And I think say no next time to crazy people asking me for a ride.
