It's almost been a week since I have posted. I have been swamped with Hostelling International work! We are going through a huge change. The National office hired an outside consulting firm to do surveys and then write up a business plan. The x-president, who promised to be my mentor when I was voted into the position, is not helping me AT ALL!

I do too.....but it's usually after I've butted my head up against a brick wall a few times!

Don't you hate it when people tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear? As my sister has often said to me, "God sends us what we need, not what we want."

Your mom sounds awesome.

And good for you for finishing what you needed to do!

My mom was awesome in a lot of ways. We didn't have the greatest of relationships but I do have a lot of fond memories.

Well done for getting your survey finished :-) It's all the more sweet for knowing you did it all yourself without help! I wonder why your ex-president is being so difficult?

It's a long story.....the short version is that she was doing some things that were not ethical, especially in the non-profit sector....so we basically voted her out of any position of authority. I think it pissed her off to be "found out" and also frightened her a bit.

Good work, getting your survery done yourself. Maybe you don't need this other woman much anyway. Still, I understand how annoying it is when people promise to help and then don't. Sometimes I find that anger helps me get stuff done when I would otherwise piddle around.

This is a type of woman who runs an organization for complete control....a power issue....and we found out she was doing some things that were totally unethical....especially for a non-profit! We voted her out of any position of authority. I really want nothing to do with her.

It sounds like you are MUCH better off without this woman! It always amazes me when someone in a do-gooding organization does unethical stuff. How low can you get???

Thanks Holly, I did get some help from our council Liaison but he doesn't have the stats I needed.
