Yesterday, Danny, my... supervisor??? Iono. Someone moderately important, who has been working with the company for twelve years, starting back when it was in Valencia, left along with his wife to look for a new job. "Because it just doesn't feel like a career." No advancement. Hmm. So today Garret was... I guess replacing Danny. Of course Garret has significantly less experience so Kim (the other supervisor guy) was helping him a lot and I did some stuff too like pulling orders (a very welcome change from counting hard drives...) I also learned how to format hard drives. And I figured out how to do format them on two computers simulatenously =D
Anyway that was fun, at least relatively speaking, but...
I couldn't imagine doing that for twelve years!!!
How do you stay in business for 12 years??? More like 40-50 if you want some money to retire on.
For thirty years, imagine going oh okay they sold 2 ST340016A hard drives let's go look for them. Stupid system it's terribly organized I can't find it/we don't have it. Oh well I'll just take this one instead.
Uhhhhh......
That's what you do for a living?
I don't see how being a salesperson is much better?
Hi, would you like to buy some hard drives? x40 years worth.
What do you do with a business major for the rest of your life???
Oh well. At least I'm in engineering... currently Developing/building/working with new stuff somehow. Tech advances fast. I guess that gives a sense of moving forward, but that means you have to keep up too. Stay sharp...
Hmm. Danny's trying to find a better job...
What's a good job??? What do I want to do? (as if picking a major weren't hard enough... now we get harder questions)
I'm praying Danny and his wife find a good job... and soon.
