My 100 SuJu fic archive. The morning arrived cold without anyone by his side. Outside the busy city’s life was just starting within the time of sunrise and the first chirp of a bird in the nearest park. He yawned and pushed his blankets aside, within seconds his bare foot touched the floor of ice coldness. He shivered a little with only his boxers on, wishing to be back in the bed badly. In a quick rush he reached the door and walked in the living room where a carpet around the area of his huge couch was and TV set with a little black table with magazines and newspapers on. He saw a lonely blanket lying there, and he settled himself down on the couch, wrapping his body in that warmness. He just got out of the bed some minutes ago, and he already missed laying there- what a lazy person he was. But he was smart enough to return to his room and dress on his pants and some white t-shirt with a smiley. Now he was ready to face the day, of course, without forgetting to drink his beloved coffee. He ran his hand through his pitch black hair that was long enough to fall in his eyes without warning and bother him sometimes. That didn’t caught his attention now, when his thoughts was occupied with something else, in fact, someone. The one he was worried about, because he wasn’t there with him these days, not even calling or daring to show up. He might sense that he was angry at him, so not even trying to do so. That’s really not how to treat someone you’re in a relationship with. Yesung wasn’t complaining too much, he was used that people forgot about him easily, pretty much not caring what he felt. This time he thought it was different, he was different. Oh… he was wrong, wasn’t he?
The bitter smile that was on his lips, didn’t linger there for long, since he persuade himself to put that matter aside and move on with things today. A little faint scent that came from those three red roses, that were placed in a glass vase on the dining table, reminded Yesung of him, that his presence here wasn’t such a long forgotten history, just about a week or longer, not less.
He empties the hot drink rather forcefully fast, trying his best to don’t burn his tongue and washed it clear to place in the same place he took it from, beside another black one with gold letters on it- some foreign word he couldn’t spell.
Everything just reminded of him. Could it be worse?
He stuffed his papers and books in his brown bag with a pretty key-chain. He was rushing already. Not like he usually wasn’t, but for once he tried not to- he is a teacher for god’s sake- they need to be in time. He got carried away by some of memories earlier, and before that he couldn’t get up in time, falling asleep on the couch. He grabbed his car keys from the table, took a look around the room, thinking if he didn’t forget anything, and rushed out of his small apartment, locking the door afterwards.
The whole drive through the city was as quick as he could manage it to be, and he twisted, and turned, and tried just at least to be in time. He managed that. Still five minutes ‘till the first lesson will start. So nice. He actually smiled, and that was when he was rushing through the long corridors, and the principal passed him. He stopped and bowed, while the older man looked at him with a critical eye.
“Mr. Kim you’re almost late again. You should note that you must be at least 15 minutes before the first lesson starts in the school.”
“Yes sir, that won’t happen again,” his smile lessened but didn’t leave his face. He turned around on his feet and entered the next door from his left, while the principal didn’t’ move at all, his face thoughtful.
“Hello class, what you had for today?” he stopped in the front of the class, eyeing them all. No one made a sound, scared that they’ll need to answer to that. Yesung smiled to encourage. “You know I won’t bite. Besides I forgot to bring the class journal with me, so just tell me.”
A girl from the last rows started, getting her courage after the whole class sighed after hearing his last words, “Teacher-“
Unlucky for her and Yesung, but for luck and sake of others, the door opened with a loud thud. A guy in this school’s uniform messily arranged on his body with shirt sticking out form pants and hair in a mess and with a school bag on his left shoulder, stood in the door way like that, hands in his pockets, chewing on a gum.
“Who’s he?”
“What is he doing here?”
“So sexy…”
The class whispered around, mostly girls, sending him admiring looks, and that was just getting louder until the guy moved, with lazy steps approaching Yesung, who hadn’t moved a bit or made a sound. The principal came in soon after he had stopped in front of YeSung’s face, observing the older man without much respect in his eyes.
“Mr. Kim,” Yesung immediately snapped his head in the direction of principal’s voice with a questioning mark on his face. “He is the new student in our school, transferred from other Seoul’s school to this. Introduce yourself to your new class.”
“Hi, I’m Cho Kyuhyun. Nice to meet you all.” He flashed a quick smile to the class and girls were practically swooning over him.
“This is your new biology teacher Kim Jongwoon,” the principal was the one to break the sudden silence, introducing Kyuhyun to Yesung, who took a mere notice of that his name was mentioned.
“Nice to meet you,” Kyuhyun smiled again, just for him. And, if Yesung said that the look in this new kid’s eyes was undressing, no one would have believed him. Actually, he couldn’t bring himself to do so, that’s why he put that matter aside; gesturing to the rest of class, while saying, “Please, pick a place to sit.”
Some days later, when the day in the school was over, Yesung walked to his place on his own legs. It was late and sun about to set. He sat on a park bench, the same old one among other park benches he liked the most. He was one for undying habits and love of sunsets or sunrises, some beautiful things, coffee, and passion to music. The peace was interrupted by sound of footsteps but he didn’t give a damn about that. It’s a public park after all, people comes and goes every day here.
This time it was different. “Yesung,” a voice he hardly recognized the first moment, spoke softly.
“Kangin?” his chest rise and fell after every fast inhale and exhale he made, almost afraid to look to his right.
“The same old one. Won’t you even look at your boyfriend anymore?”
“You were long away without telling and worried me with that call, so why would I? I should be very angry.” YeSung’s breath hitched when with a corner of his eye he saw a movement from Kangin, who leaned in, his hand stroking his hair, and placed a kiss on his temple.
“So… should I leave already?”
“No!” Yesung almost exclaimed, afraid. Kangin laughed warmly that his eyes twinkled when their met. “Oh you enjoy scaring me or what?”
“I just didn’t know you will react like that. But I guess, I like that because I see what you feel then,” Kangin ruffled his hair and rested his arm around YeSung’s shoulders, his eyes catching the glimpse of the sunset. “Just watch the sunset already or else you’ll miss it. My face you can observe any other time.”
Yesung laughed a little shaky, surprised and turned his head in the direction of the horizon. Almost perfect, he could say that moment.
“I have something to say,” it was spoken by Kangin the very next day in the morning when YeSung’s coffee was about to be ready soon and his sandwich was halfway done and on a plate. Kangin gazed at him, his eyes following his movements how he leaned against the counter and crossed his arms over his chest.
“I’m listening.”
“I have to leave for some weeks. There is a business thing I need to do and I’m not sure when I’ll be back. So don’t be angry if I can’t call you, it may get hectic there.”
“Where?”
Kangin ignored his question. “I’ll tell you if I-I mean… when I come back.”
Yesung frowned a little, faintly sensing that there was something off with the whole matter about his job (he actually didn’t know much about it) he couldn’t put his finger on.
“Then I hope you won’t forget about me.” That’s a wish he made every time he was gone. They weren’t in a relationship for long, not for that long for him to get jealous or dare to confess his love proudly. It might not get that deep but Yesung hoped- it is.
“Are you thinking low about me?” Kangin stood up, questioning Yesung.
“No.”
“That’s so nice from you.” Kangin smiled.
Their lips met.
Next day Kangin left early in the morning, of course, after he had kissed a proper goodbye to Yesung.
When Yesung passed the music room, he heard a sound of strong, low melodic voice coming from there. He pushed the door open a little to see who was singing there such a great melody with such a great voice.
Kyuhyun was sitting by the piano; time by time his fingertips hit some chord while he was singing. Yesung know anything about his talents but this for sure was one.
“Bravo,” Yesung clapped once Kyuhyun stopped to sing, gazing down at his hands. “You sounded very great. I should praise you, but I guess you had already heard that.”
“Huh?” Kyuhyun’s head snapped up to meet a view of a smiling Yesung who approached him. “Oh teacher,” he leaped on his feet and moved away from the piano a little awkwardly. Yesung watched his sudden reaction with confusion written on his face.
“Did I interrupt you in an inopportune moment?”
“No, no… I already ended. I should go,” he made an attempt to walk out of the room but Yesung stood in front of him to block his way out.
“Actually, I was searching for you.”
“In what matter?”
“You can follow to my cabinet and we can talk there.”
“Oh ok,” Kyuhyun said.
Yesung turned around on his feet and started to walk out of the room. Kyuhyun followed with slow steps.
Until they reached the class, there were no words exchanged between them. Once Yesung had sat down, he looked up, starting, “Your grades in my subject are too low to be satisfied even a little.”
“Oh.” There Kyuhyun had nothing to say in this matter.
“I’m surprised Kyuhyun, I thought you’ll have better marks in my subject judging from the way you were interested,” Yesung talked to this completely indifferent student who stood in front of his desk, gazing somewhere in his direction.
“I guess, simply can’t remember anything of that,” he said, stuffing his hands in his jean’s pockets, “Since I don’t write it down.”
“You don’t? Then it’s the last time to do so. I heard in every other subject you are much better.”
Kyuhyun winced a little after his last remark. “Then… tutor me.”
“Huh?”
“I said- you can tutor me. You’re the subject’s teacher so you can give me extra lessons,” Kyuhyun suggested, his eyes hardly trying to make an eye contact with Yesung, who refused to that, deep in thoughts.
“You know at which time I give extra lessons to those who want or need to. You can come then, nothing bad will happen if you come.”
Kyuhyun’s face expression fell a bit from its enthusiastic smile to a mere one. “No, I don’t want to. I want private lessons then.”
“Search for someone out of this school. Someone else, because I don’t think I can arrange such a thing.”
“Really, how come that--” Kyuhyun stopped to talk when a sound of someone coughing from doorstep disturbed his train of thoughts.
“Mr. Kim, you should.” It was the principal who talked, startling Yesung who hadn’t noticed him, yet. “I haven’t seen a student, who actually wants so stubbornly to learn more for a while.”
“Then,” Yesung forced a quick smile, flashing it to the principal, “It’s arranged. Let’s meet tomorrow.”
And days went on like that, with him giving extra lessons in biology for Kyuhyun, who did really attend them and showed some kind of interest. The only problem around was that Kyuhyun was a little troublemaker hide under his perfect behavior towards elders when it was needed. Yesung had made a note of that and several other things that included his friends, and the way his talking to him was a little different than how student would treat a teacher. Yesung just wondered for a one day why so, the next he just accepted the fact and went on with the lesson they arranged to have in the library. There was all the needed literature.
“So it’s all clear for today?” Yesung asked when about an hour was around already.
“I don’t think so. There was a fact in the 92th page couldn’t understand.”
“Show me… and I’ll explain. But then for real it’s over. I have to go already.”
Kyuhyun lazily turned pages one by one until he had reached the right one. He wasn’t in a rush anywhere and he didn’t want Yesung to rush either. He glanced at the older man for a split second and saw him looking in his wristwatch. He didn’t like that, but he said nothing out loud. “Oh here it is…”
Yesung leaned closer to see at which word he was pointing at and Kyuhyun did the same from his position being on the left side. “Teacher…” he said to catch his attention. When Yesung turned his head, Kyuhyun firmly placed his lips on his, startling the older man. That second with a loud thud something crushed on the ground followed by a long row of curse words for some person, obviously male judging from the voice.
They both sat up straight, startled, ending their contact. Kyuhyun turned that way and in a split second saw a disappearing figure of the person he didn’t think will see here at this hour.
“I’ll be right back.” He said and rushed off. He walked through the long rows of the books until caught a glimpse of a movement from his right. He quickly changed the direction and was fast to catch that person, stepping in front of him.
“Sungmin, what are you doing here?”
The smaller male threw a quick glance at him and then focused it back to the book in his hand. “I came here to take a book our history teacher said us to read.”
“You…” Kyuhyun swallowed before asking directly. “Did see something or not?”
“Oh besides that you kissed your biology teacher, nothing else, in fact,” SungMin’s voice was cold and the way he stood far from him- distant.
“Can you-”
“Don’t worry I won’t tell anyone,” Sungmin faked a sweet smile. “It’s safe.”
“I should thank you, then.”
“No need, besides I need to go,” Sungmin stormed off, not even looking at him before he left. Kyuhyun shook his head, wondering why he sounded so hurt or maybe it was anger.
Kyuhyun walked back to the table they sat but Yesung was already long gone. He sighed.
