He walked out of an apartment building with hood covering his head and hands cuffed in his coat’s pockets to don’t freeze in that cold night’s wind, which was blowing right in his face as he went. Before stopping at the first crossing, he lifted his eyes up and saw only two stars shinning bright above the city. He smiled; they so much looked like a couple.
Next two crossing he passed fast, almost in a rush and in fact he was rushing just to meet him after his last phone call. After the last crossing he turned on right in a dark street with no lights showing the way. He saw nothing except a car and after it was a single door, he opened it and walked in. He ran until the third floor, taking every second step.
And finally he rang the bell. Shortly after doors opened and he was pulled in the apartment and owner’s tight hug.
“Hey, hey don’t suffocate me,” he was happy but not that much to let be left with no breath.
“Sorry,” Donghae let him free and took a few steps away, smiling sheepishly and making a move to turn around. This time Kibum was faster in reacting and pulled him in a hug from back, resting his head on Donghae’s shoulder.
“That doesn’t mean I don’t want to hug you,” he breathed very close to Donghae’s ear and made shiver’s of excitement to run down his spin like when every time he does so.
There was brief silence before Kibum spoke again, “why you wanted to meet me?”
“I want you to stay here.”
“Huh?” Kibum frowned slightly by sudden change of Donghae’s tone.
“Just stay tonight and tomorrow and this week and even more and-“
Kibum turned Donghae around in his hug and lifted his chin to look up in his eyes, speaking in a soft voice, “Hey, calm down. I’ll stay. Remember I won’t leave you.”
“I’m simply afraid,” he answered in a voice so small and fragile.
“You had those nightmares again, right?” Kibum asked out of concern, knowing all about it because he was the one Donghae trust in and had come to love after trying to get over all of his fears.
“I know but I’m not him. I won’t break your heart. I won’t become a monster. Can you for once listen to what I say? Simply let me in,” he whispered in a reassuring voice, leading Donghae to bed. He needed to get a good rest. Half way he stopped to take off his coat and throw it on a living’s room’s couch.
“That sounds so easy and promising, but my heart…” he placed his hand over his chest and bitted his lower lips slightly with a worried expression.
He hands saw this expression only twice and it didn’t promise anything good. “Was them so bad tonight?”
“Yes,” he whispered, putting in all to make him understand and it hurt to see him like that.
“Let’s sleep. You need to rest. Please,” Kibum helped him to get in his bed and lied besides him, covering both with blankets. He placed a reassuring arm under Donghae’s head and kept him in a half embrace, whispering sweet words and something that was a simple nonsense simply because he was a bit afraid also of many things and happenings.
“Why are you always here for me?”Donghae asked with his eyes closed after some time listening to Kibum as he was beginning to smile very slightly.
“Fool, I love you and you know that already.” and this time it was smile for sure that was on Donghae’s lips and Kibum allowed himself to kiss his temple and whisper, “Let’s sleep and I’ll protect you whatever will happen.”
