Gunung Lambak --- take 2

Aug 08, 2010 15:31

It's exactly 1 year, since we first attempt to "conquer" Gunung Lambak in Kluang. See here. And this time, we made it to the correct summit! What's more, in just 4.5hrs as compared to the 6.5hrs we took last year. Yeah!!! Thanks to the Wee family.

Apparently, we took the wrong way right from the beginning last year. That's why, we didn't make it up to the summit with view. The route we took brought us to the OTHER summit, which is crowded with trees and thus no view. Check out the short vid of our trek, my favourite part starts @ 6'05". So cute to see a "small person" doing abseiling.

Long ago, before the kids came along, before Mr Tok and I were married, on one of our hiking trip @ Bukit Timah hill along one of it's tougher trail (lots of stairs climbing), we came across a pair of young brothers with their parents. The elder boy was just 8 years old. Despite the physically challenging trail, the 2 boys were behaving very positively, very happy, very "sunny". Mr Tok and I felt so proud for the parents that we wished (if ever, we had the chance) our kids will be like the boys too. Tough, strong, persevering.

Now, we are still wishing for that. We are paving our way towards that. But, we can only wish for that. Our kids responses to the various hiking trips so far, seems promising. Then again, we can't tell. In any case, WELL DONE kids!!

After the trek, we checked into the WHITE HOUSE in Kluang town for the night. Though it looks nothing like the White House, but with 2 Queens, air-con, fan, tv, "phantom" hot shower for RM68.25, what can we complain about.

Mobile liang teh near the White House.
Ahhh... lucky us for such wonderful weather on this long weekend.
