2010!!
Oh my, oh my... it's 2010!!
Spent the last days of 2009 at my dad's in malaysia and kicked start 2010 by "conquering" the "Bukit Timah" of Batu Pahat. Brought along a bottle of sparkling fruit juice to welcome the new year at the top of the hill. Sounds good? Oh well... many a times, life doesn't go as planned. That's ok, life still goes on... ... happily.
Rei was really excited about "climbing mountain" again. He was walking briskly and cheerfully all the while. Min's enthusiasm, on the other hand, didn't last too long.

The path up to where we went was cemented and has shelters along the way. It's actually a very simple trek up as there is just 1 way. So, no worries about getting lost. Unfortunately, before we could reach the top, a heavy downpour came and we had to abort our ascent.

Waited 30min for the rain to stop, but it didn't look like it will stop any time soon. So, we decided to descend in the rain. In order to descend fast, we had to carry the kids. I was carrying Rei, who weighs no less than 15kg, and now my legs are aching. Oooh... I like the feeling.
Along the way down, we saw the previously flowing river turned into fearsome, water gushing monster. See the danger of flash floods?
Well, well, a new year and my kids had a new experience... that is, getting completely drenched in the rain. The kids sure had fun getting all wet. And we are just glad that all's well (kids and elderly didn't catch a cold).
Now, we'll just have to wait for our next trip there to try to conquer this hill again. Urghhh... ...
