Bukit Timah
Due to the public holiday on saturday, Rei has no school today. As Mr Tok is not working as well, he asked Rei if he wants to go beach or mountain. Rei said, "Let's go mountain. You always didn't go together." So, off to the mountain we go!
Today, we took the South View path (Min's choice), then turn to Cave path, then back onto the main road for descent. Yep, not Rock path today. And we were actually very lucky to be on this route because it poured very heavily halfway. There are 2 shelters along this route, but NONE along the Rock path.
Fortunately, the heavy downpour didn't last too long (less than 30min). And we managed to descent without getting wet.
While taking shelter, below is the conversation between me and the kids (mainly Rei).
Me: Oh-oh... the rain is so heavy, looks like we have to sleep here tonight.Rei:*wide-eyed* Yes, cannot go back... later lightning strikes. Let's sleep here. *patting on the bench*
Min:But I don't want leh. I want to sleep in our bedroom.Rei:But how to "bong-bong" (shower) huh?Me:Hmmm... you'll have to take off your clothes and stand in the rain to "bong-bong".Rei:OK. But did you bring my pyjamas? *looking very excited*Me:Oops... no pyjamas, only extra set of clothings. And no towel too, how to wipe dry?Rei:Never mind, can use the leaves.Me:And I didn't bring stove too, how to cook food? We'll have nothing to eat! How?!Rei:*looked around* Never mind, I can cook. 8op
