DAY FIVE : SUN, SAND, SEA, SNORKEL!!

Rise and shine!

Didn't managed to catch the sun rise in the mountain, but we sure did catch it at the beach!

After a nice breakfast at the "Meeting Point" (right smack in the middle of the long stretch of Long Beach, there are 3 eating places side by side. They are differentiated by their different coloured chairs, but offer very similar menu. This is the good thing about staying along Long Beach, you don't have to confine to your hotel for food and services), we decided to let the kids try snorkelling off the beach as there were lots of fish swimming actively by the beach.

Surprisingly, they picked it up quite fast and we decided that it's the right time to bring the kids out for an open sea snorkelling experience! With a number of snorkelling service providers along the beach, it took us no time to arrange for one. And in less than 1.5hrs time, the kids took their first plunge!

See the number of fish swimming to me?

We had arranged to go snorkelling at 5 points, namely the Shark Point, Coral Bay, Turtle Bay, Turtle Beach and I-can't-remember-what, with a lunch stop at the Big Island. All in all, it was a good 6+ hours out under the glorious sun.

Lunch at a small little Malay shop.

Other than missing the sharks (yes, our fellow NZ snorkeller saw 3 of them. We were just too slow), we saw tons of fish (both colourful & dull coloured) and some other interesting creatures!

It was a wonderful experience for the kids and they thoroughly enjoyed it! So much so that they expressed their wishes to snorkel again and again.

Back on land after snorkelling.

More beach play.

Yummm... ...

Everyone had a generous rub down with the cooling Aloe Vera gel.

DAY SIX : HOME SWEET HOME

Boarding the connecting boat to transfer to the fast boat.

After days of fun, both up the mountain and down the sea, it's time to head home.
