As the New Year Approaches, many find it necessary to make New Year's Resolutions.
Many make these about weight loss
careers
experiences
accomplishments
All can be noble things.
But I desire to make my New Year something more.
About more than accomplishing a vain goal.
There are many things I want to accomplish for myself
But most of all I want to transform myself for others.
I want to be less career focused, "What do I want to do?"
and more vocationally focused, "Who do I want to be?"
I want to be a person who truly loves God and others.
Who reaches out to the poor.
Who looks past self and into others.
Who is interested in others and the world.
and who take that interest to the next level and gets involved.
I want to know more about God,
Truly know him,
Truly live for him.
Truly love him.
Not just through words and church attendance
But through my actions,
my life,
my heart.
Some times I don't feel like a Christian.
What after all is Christianity.
I've seen one rather set version of it and I have to admit, I don't really like it.
Going to Church
Faking a smile
Faking interest
Faking worship
Going home
Living self interested
Living hateful
Not really living
I don't want to waste my life not living
"One life to live, it soon will pass.
only what's done for Christ will last."
