(no subject)
Stuff: Had the guild meeting Saturday where I gave away many cool cups and goblets. It was nice to see everyone, since it's been many months since our last event. We discussed events for this year, and we're going to try and add a few "away" events, and see if we can guest with other guilds to get "out and about" more, and try to fill in a 2 or 3 month gap in our schedule.
I have some costuming stuff (shirts) I'd like to make as well. I found a really nice dark red for Mr. Cal. Now I need a good pattern.
I've been working on cups in pottery, trying to get better handles. It's slow, but I finally got it through my head that for improving techniques, more is better. Although I still tend to fuss too much.
Mr. Cal joined a Shadow Run game, and they had their first meeting on Saturday. He was complaining that there wasn't any combat...Because their plan actually worked.
The cruise to mexico was interesting, I picked up a nice little water color of a path through some trees (*oooohhhh Trees....*). I'm not sure I'm into this whole cruise thing though; Mild seasickness, 4 days at sea for 3 in ports. It was fun to dress up dinner, and we got to hang with Mr. Cal's family a lot. And Mr. Cal and I played Chess for the first time in a long time. They had one of those giant chess boards! Got quite a few books read.
Mexico though was a bit...Unimpressive I guess would be the best word. I think because for the most part, it looked like California (go figure), and we have a lot of Mexican "flavor" in this area, so there wasn't a whole lot of "different". It was warm though, and they had nice beaches, and nifty jungle areas.
