[Background]
Ichigo was born in Tokyo, Japan on the date of March 15, 1989 to new parents Momomiya Shintaro and Sakura. Even though the doctor claimed that Ichigo was too weak to live a week after her birth (as stated in Ep. 31 of the anime), she managed to break the odds and continue living as the upbeat, charming girl that she is today.

She enrolled in Daikan Junior High and made friends with Miwa and Moe (though whether she became friends with them before or after she enrolled is unclear). Sometime during her time in Daikan, she was introduced to star student Aoyama Masaya, whom she fell in love with almost instantly. Masaya was certainly top notch in looks, brains, and talent, but that wasn’t what won her over; what really won Ichigo over was his beautiful smile. She thought that such an amazing smile should shine forever, and she wanted to live every moment of that.

And so, Ichigo would begin to fight for her shot to become Masaya’s girlfriend.

She had many opportunities to ask him out, but could never find the courage to do so. Finally, she stumbled across an exhibition for Red-Data animals and, knowing that he was into environmental protection… stuff, asked Masaya to join her. Surprisingly, he accepted. So, with extra care to look exceptionally presentable for her “date”, she joined Masaya in the boring exhibition. The date would nearly become disastrous, as Café Mew Mew owners Shirogane Ryou and Akasaka Keiichiro was attempting to fire an experimental weapon at a Chimera Anima at the same time the date was taking place. Unfortunately, the weapon misfired and the ammo, which was filled with supercharged Red-Data Animal DNA, made contact with Ichigo and four other girls. The girls would mutate and become known as Mew Mews.

The day after was spent with Ichigo lamenting about how bad the date had come out, since she had collapsed as a result of the mutation. During that day, she noticed that she was acting strangely, as she found joy in chasing butterflies, stole fish from her friends, and even fell from a balcony and landed safe and sound. As she was about to realize that she was acting like a cat, Masaya asked Ichigo if she would join him on a project that he was planning. Ichigo gladly accepted, not even asking what the project was, which she would regret later as she was asked to join Masaya to clean a riverwith him.

While cleaning the river, Ichigo and Masaya were attacked by a rat-monster, which had knocked Masaya unconscious. Just as Ichigo was about to be attacked, she was saved by Ryou, who then proceeded to tell her to transform into a Mew Mew. She, of course, thought he was crazy, but had managed to transform into a super catgirl and defeat the monster, which was a rat being possessed by a parasite-like… thing. After the battle, Ichigo was then kidnapped by Ryou and his partner-in-crime Keiichiro. They then proceeded to explain the situation to Ichigo and told her that there were four other girls like her, saying that together they had to save the world from attacking aliens.

Natural reaction: what the heck were they smoking?

They finally stop and show Ichigo their headquarters: a lovely girlish café called Café Mew Mew. While Ichigo is questioning their sexuality purpose for bringing her here, they tell her that this is the perfect place for girls to gather, which also means a higher chance of finding the other Mew Mews quickly. It was at this point where she was also forced to work at the Café as a waitress, so that she’d be able to find the mark that marks a girl as a Mew Mew (Ichigo’s mark is hidden on the inside of her right thigh). Eventually, after nearly losing one member, earning a present from her crush, getting her first kiss stolen by the enemy, and nearly getting killed four times by mutant animals, Ichigo had found all four girls and convinced them to join her as a Mew Mew. Of course… this hadn’t made her work life any easier.

After finding the four girls, Ichigo and co. were given a new mission: finding the Mu Aqua, which are drops of pure water with magical, restorative properties and are usually found in large bodies of water. So far, they've been unsuccessful; Ryou took the girls on a cruise around Tokyo Bay and came out empty-handed (though there was yet another battle with the aliens). Sometime after this, Keiichiro stumbled upon some alarming data on Ichigo: her cat DNA is taking over her human DNA. He couldn't warn her in time, but Ichigo would discover this problem on her own: in the middle of an impromptu date with Masaya, her embarrassment would skyrocket and she would run away, taking refuge in a public restroom. She would discover that, by some strange force, she had turned into a cat!

[Personality]
Ichigo is your everyday mahou shoujo heroine: sweet & caring, shy around her love interest (Masaya), bubbly to the point of tooth-rotting (certain situations apply), and over reactive to the point of ridiculous. But while she does hold these qualities, there are several qualities that make her stand out from the rest. For example, her fears do tend to get in the way of accomplishing her goals. Tell her anything that has to be related to ghost stories or Halloween (not the good aspects of it, mind you) and she will run in the other direction without ever looking back. Ever.

Ichigo hates being used as a tool. She defines the very saying of “overworked and underpaid” when working in Café Mew Mew (considering the other waitresses are either not working or making it even worse for Ichigo), and this ticks her off to no end. This is also the reason why Ichigo holds a personal grudge against Kisshu; she thinks that his “declarations of love” are nothing more than lies and nuisances meant to deter her. Also, he stole her first kiss; that earned him the top spot on Ichigo’s list of “HATEHATEHATE”.

Despite all of this, Ichigo is a very friendly person. She tries her best to make friends with new people, and will stay on their side against any wrongdoings. If any emotional issues come up in their lives, she will attempt to fix it. If anyone bullies her friends, she will fight tooth and nail to defend them, which is the main reason why she finally resolved to becoming a Mew Mew. Of course, just because she’s friendly, doesn’t mean that she’s completely selfless; she did hesitate when she was dropped with the “You must save the world!” bomb, thinking that it would interfere with her social life and her chances with Masaya.

Like most Japanese preteen girls, Ichigo is easily embarrassed, frightened, or angered; this series decides to take these aspects further. Thanks to the cat genes taking over her human ones, if she is bothered to a certain degree, her cat ears will pop out. If it’s taken even further, then she will just turn into a cat and (very likely) run away so as to prevent further embarrassment.

Also because of the gene pool takeover, Ichigo has gained mannerisms of a cat. Fish has taken a spot in her top favorite food (the others being basic junk foods, go figure), dogs became her mortal enemy, she will occasionally say “nya~” at the end of her sentences, and if anything small and moving - like, say, a butterfly - gains her attention, she will chase after it howling and with “paws” outstretched, ready to bat at it.

[Specialties/Abilities]
As leader of the Mew Mews, who are basically a group of purifiers, Ichigo is easily identifiable as the most powerful. While her melee attacks can mainly consist of scratching and kicking, her “Reborn Strawberry Check” attack is always the finisher attack that can release a Chimera Anima’s hold on an animal. Despite her lack of physical attacks, she is very nimble; she dodges attacks with swiftness and ease and moves across buildings and debris with the skill that can rival a professional free-runner. When she wields the Mew Aqua Rod, she unleashes a powerful magic known as “Reborn Aqua Drops” that can undo any damage the attacking aliens had done and, in some cases, can even return lost life.

Even when she is not a Mew Mew, she bears a fraction of her skill, impressing even the gymnastics team. At one instance when attempting to catch a piece of paper, she fell off of a balcony almost three stories high and landed safely on her feet. Also, she seems to have gained an ability to talk to animals, although this has only happened when she was in her cat form.

For every pro, there is also a con; there are drawbacks to her skills that affect her sociably. As stated in her personality section, when she becomes angry or embarrassed to a certain point, she will sprout her cat ears and tail, which will go away after a while. If she becomes embarrassed or angry to the point of rising blood pressure though, she will turn into a domestic black cat (which is odd, considering she's infused with the DNA of a wildcat and it's nowhere near close to being completely black-furred). The only way for her to change back into a human is a cliché kiss a lá “Frog Prince.”

[Affection] Ichigo is a very caring person, so expect some sort of affection from her, especially if you happen to be a friendly person as well. If it's obvious that you are a rather hostile person, Ichigo will be on her guard, but still try to be friendly to a certain degree. If she finds that you're not only a jerk, but a jerk to her, then expect her to be loud with you.

Hugs are more than okay; depending on the person, she'll either blush madly or hug back. Flirting is okay too; she deals with it everyday! Kisses, however, have a limit. If it's on the hand or on the forehead, it's fine (she'll just blush like the schoolgirl she is) but if it's on the cheek or lips* then that might be a bit of an issue. They are allowed, but note that she is crushing on someone from her world.

*This is null and void when she becomes a cat. Once she turns into one, she'll need to kiss someone in order to change back into a human.

[Fighting] Yes, yes, and yes. Any and all fights/injuries/killings, though, needs to be discussed with me via AIM. Also, Ichigo is a skilled fighter when she is a Mew Mew, though she doesn't so much as she does jump and dodge. When she's in her human form, she is still pretty good at fighting and evasion, since some of her Mew Mew abilities are also influencing her physical strength.

Only thing I have issue with is if she's in her cat form. That form is her most vulnerable; she can't go Mew Mew and the most that she can do is scratch and bite. Also killing animals is a bad thing why would you even ;^;

[Other Permissions] Mind rape her to your heart's content!

I allow fourth-wall breaking, so long as it doesn't spoil too much (such as when Masaya confesses to her in Volume 4)! You can say that she's from a manga and stuff like that.

[Other Facts] Like I said, unless you try REALLY hard, the closest you're gonna get to her in affection is "close friend". She is crushing on someone from her home world, so pursuing a romantic relationship with this chick is near impossible.
