Ok, ok already...
I just got back from watching my first Harry Potter movie. Personally I'm still wondering what's the big deal. I understand that I'm coming in on the fourth movie and that I've never read one of the books, but still... Granted, the effects were good and the story was ok but this wasn't Lord of the Rings. Maybe I'm just showing my age but I can see my parents side now on Star Wars. I may give the first three movies a view now, but I'm still thinking I'm not going to get cought up in all the hype.
Wizards have just never done it for me. In my gaming days I much prefered the fighter and cleric classes to straight magic users.
Oh well, the two kids I took really enjoyed it. That's what's most important. And it was fun to smuggle in the boxes of Cracker Jack too. Wow, the prizes suck in Cracker Jack now. Has anyone else noticed that? Gone are the plastic charms and whistles (I once got a little plastic airplane.). They now offer little paper folding pictures. Damn you Political Correctness Safety Nazis!
