“Intoxicating” read it and you’ll understand, I was in school when I read this and I felt bad that I couldn’t write a fic write away, but then I thought to myself why not, school is the best time to write it....right? As long as no one looked at my computer it’s all good...right? So yeah since this was inspired by her story, this is dedicated to Jen.
JUMP was leaving for the day, practice was over and it was time to go home to dinner, and Yamada especially had a large amount of homework to do. Valentine’s Day was coming up fast and he had nothing, no boyfriend wait no, girlfriend, he was into girls right? Wait why was that even a question? Anyways, he was alone, his friends had people, of course what his friends had could never be revealed to anybody, and what they did on their private time was not for him to hear. They’ve tried though, oh yeah they’ve tried. Yuto had attempted to tell him several times what he had done with Keito when they were alone, though Yamada could never figure out why. Yuto wasn’t going to get anything in return, Yamada wasn’t like that. He was way too busy for relationships right? Right? That’s what he told himself, and the others when they asked him why he wasn’t with anybody. Everybody had somebody, everybody at least someone they’d want to spend Valentine’s Day with, whether it be romantically or through friendship they had someone.
Even Daiki, who had even more homework than Yamada, was going out with Ryutaro to dinner, today, the day of love and relationships; doesn’t he even see the problem with that? The public will have a heyday, how are they going to hide their selves?
Valentine’s Day was one of the most depressing days of the year, especially for a single person like Yamada, he was showered with tons of chocolate and gifts from fans and he was given well wishes from his friends to have him find a partner, not a girlfriend, a partner. Their exact words, honestly, they want him to have a partner. “Do they know something?” Yamada asked himself on his walk home. “They must, they wouldn’t have said partner if they didn’t right? Or is that just the most politically correct way to say that now? I think it is, either way, they should know I’m straight right?”
“Why am I even questioning myself?” Yamada said aloud, earning him some questionable looks from passersby.
“Better question: Why are you talking to yourself?” a super familiar voice said from behind him.
“I didn’t realize I said that out loud. Takaki, why are you way over here? It’s nowhere near your house and it’s not even on your way home, it actually the opposite direction. What’s up?”
“I uh... had to uh... pick up something... uh for my mom. Yeah for my mom, I had to pick up something for my mom.”
“And it’s on this side of the city?” Yamada asked in disbelief, he saw right through the lie but he wasn’t about to say it out loud.
“Yeah~” Takaki trailed off and looked away. “Say, do you want a ride home? I can drive now you see.” Takaki bragged.
“Well?” Yamada asked smiling to his older friend.
“Yes well, they wouldn’t have given me a license if I didn’t know how to drive well Yama-chan.” Takaki said, he was a little offended by the statement.
“I was just messing with you; I’m sure you can drive perfectly well, and yes you can drive me home. Do you drive stick?”
“What?” Takaki looked at his younger friend in shock. He was not supposed to know that.
Yamada looked at the deadpanned Takaki, “I meant the transmission...of the car. Is it automatic or stick?”
“Oh it is a stick,” Takaki said awkwardly. “C’mon I’ll show you.” they walked back a couple of blocks to where Takaki’s shiny new car was illegally parked.
“Oh yeah you drive so well,” Yamada said sarcastically.
“I drive well, I don’t park well, there’s a difference,” Takaki said and he opened the car door to allow Yamada to get in and then he walked around and got in on his side. “Are you in a hurry?” Takaki asked about five minutes down the road.
“Not really, why?”
“Do you want to stop somewhere? A park? I feel like going to a park. I know of one around here that’s supposed to be quiet.”
“Why do you want a quiet park?”
“Because it’s more peaceful,” Takaki answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Uh okay, sure let’s go,” Yamada answered and then Takaki immediately made a large right turn causing Yamada to fall over in his seat. The car was small so he landed right on Takaki’s thigh and even kissed it, indirectly of course.
“I’m sorry Yama-chan, are you alright? I almost missed our turn,” Takaki asked his passenger but never taking his eyes off the road.
“Yeah I’m alright, all good,” Yamada smiled and watched out the window as the sky got darker and the houses got more spread a part. “How far are we away?”
“Not far, don’t worry, a few more minutes,” Takaki said softly and true to his word a forest-like clearing came into view on the right side of the road. “It’s peaceful and quiet and we won’t be bothered, we’ll even be able to see the stars, now that we’re out of the city.”
“Yeah, the stars are cool,” Yamada said softly. He was a little awestruck at the scenery around him. “How did you find this place?” Yamada got out and walked around in a circle, while soaking in everything. He turned to look at Takaki who was sitting on the hood of his car just staring at the sky.
“What are you doing?” Yamada walked closer to him.
“The grass is wet, I don’t want to get wet,” Takaki said then turned away to hide the blush that crept on his face.
“What are you doing?” Yamada pulled Takaki’s face towards him. “Are you blushing?” he asked softly to which Takaki responded with a shake of his head as a no. “Because of me?” again to which Takaki responded with a shake of the head as a no. “That’s so sweet, you like me.”
“Yamada, that was not my intention, I didn’t want to come out here alone.”
“It’s alright, I think it’s cute, I have a fan.”
“What are you talking about? You have tons of fans.”
“Yes, but I have a fan that I actually like in return,” Yamada said softly while climbing on top of the car to join his friend.
“Really?” Takaki’s eyes grew wider.
“Yeah really,” Yamada said as he closed the space between them, softly his lips pressed against Takaki’s, who quickly responded back with a bit of force. Their lip-lock grew more passionate as they needed to use their noses to breathe and it developed into an all-out make-out session on top of a car, in the middle of nowhere, in the pitch black where no one could catch them.
Yamada was getting bored of the kissing so he decided to get a little daring, he shrugged of Takaki’s jacket, and it was tossed to the ground. The next shirt layer of Takaki’s came off and again was shoved to the ground. Yamada discarded his jacket and sweater and they were only left in their tees. They broke the kiss to help the other and then resumed their position. A cold sensation made Takaki break away once more as Yamada watched as a snowflake fell on Takaki’s hair. They both realized only then that they were outside, half-naked, in the middle of February.
Yamada pulled Takaki down once more and kissed him, softly and passionately, one to which Takaki gladly returned. “Happy Valentine’s Day Yama-chan, there is no one else that I’d rather spend it with.”
“I guess Valentine’s Day isn’t so bad after all,” Yamada said as Takaki pulled out and got off the car. They got dressed wordlessly; they weren’t embarrassed or confused at all, Takaki may have felt a little guilty but now at least he knew that the most popular member of Hey! Say! JUMP was all his.
Takaki drove Yamada home and gave him a chaste kiss as Yamada got out of the car. Smiling he entered his house and watched as Takaki pulled out of the drive way. Both of them were contemplating the next move. What was going to happen tomorrow? Are they officially a couple or is it because of the holiday?

“Where were you last night Yama-chan?” Chinen as he saw Yamada enter the practice room the next afternoon, “your mother called me looking for you, she was worried.”
“Yeah I know I got all of that when I got home last night, I went out,” Yamada said softly as he watched as the members of BEST and Keito walked in the room together laughing about nothing in particular, Yamada got a little warm when he saw Takaki but got jealous when he saw that his arm was around Daiki and they were laughing together, like a couple.
“What’s with you?” Yuto asked calmly.
“Nothing I’m fine, I feel hot though. Do I have a fever?” Yamada asked as Yuto felt his head.
“No, you don’t feel sick. Maybe you should take it easy today.”
“He’s sick Yuto, but don’t worry, he won’t die,” Keito said coming over. Keito smiling knowingly to Yamada but then walked away, leaving the three of them confused.
“What did he mean by that?” Chinen asked, being the one to break the silence.
“He’s lovesick,” Ryutaro commented quickly and then walked over to pull Daiki out of the room.
Author's Note: I wrote this in a little over an hour, I hope it is not too bad, personally I hate Single's Awareness Day (Valentine's Day) but whatever, there is a story for people who find love on Valentine's Day, I realize it's a little early but really who cares right? Either way please leave the following: Confetti (Love) Comments (Appreciated) and Criticism (Necessary)
