IT'S ALL OVER!!!!!

Jan 18, 2009 21:58

My adventures at this year anime convention nr. 1 in Sweden, UppCon 09, is now over. Under THIS cut is stuff. About it. Yup.

But hopefully it wll be another convention soon again.

Even though I got sick, and bought way to much for my economy to handle, I'm very pleased. When I get over on the main computer, I'll put up some pictures of what I bought, and hopefully, I find some "decent" cosplay pictures. Because I had NICE cosplay. For once! Yay for me! (and I was the first EVER "The World Ends with You" cosplayer too, so creds for me) Although there was a mr. Hanekoma there as well... Whom I need to stalk down and steal pictures from.

I also found TWO Saiyuki cosplays. TWO! That's like, twice the amount of Saiyuki cosplays I've ever seen. Meaning I have now seen three during my 6 years of going to cons. There was a Goku (and I got a freaking hug!) and a Sanzo (that ran away, lolz).

There were also a LOT of Kingdom Hearts cosplayers, and more or less all of them did fan service to fish votes. I died, and not because I liked it. Sure, I'm a yaoi fan girl, but it doesn't mean I acutally want to see cosplayers make out everywhere I turn (or actually it was more the fact that they were always doing the "wrong" pairing, figures...).

I also bought, not many things, but expensive things. I did find TWO Saiyuki doujinshis (amazing! in Sweden!), but the first one I found I didn't know what kind of doujin it was, and I didn't have the money for it, and when I had the money, it was gone. And the other one was a SanzoxGoku, which I don't really care much for, so... Yeah. Instead I bought a One Piece ZoroxSanji anthology, and a cute Gankutsuou FranzxAlbert doujinshi. Yay.

And I found an Yamane Amano art book with lots of Viewfinder art. I died. Then I found a fan book for Okane ga Nai, and then I died again. And so far, I've only bought yaoi stuff. BUT! I did buy more. Like an Ouran High School Host Club school badge patch, so all I need now is a light blue blazer, and then I'm going to freaking cosplay... Um... Someone. I'd like to do Kaoru, but hard to find a twin (to be molested by). Then I bought a little statue of Claus Valca from Last Exile, so pretty! It's really nice. And, the best of all, Coal Pan! A plushie from Kogepan! I'm SOOOOOO in love!

Went and saw "Machine Girl", a Japanese gore movie from 2008 as well. I don't think I've ever laughed so much. Seriously. It was so bad that it turned good. Almost. It was just so horrible, and you must really watch it to really get what I mean. I think the first 10 minutes would suffice... But the whole movie, watch it if you can. I can more or less promise a laugh or two.

But one of the best times was when we were going to eat with one of my friends, that cosplayed Pyramid Head. We had lots of fun, going in our cosplay outfits (in -15 degrees Celsius, mind you) to go out and eat somewhere. And we realised, Pyramid Head out of its territory is how much fun as possible. Pyramid Head in the middle of the street, crossing a road, eating at McDonalds, looking at toilet paper... Hilarious I tell you! But not as fun as watching the people living in the city watching her walk through the city, commenting stuff like "What the hell is that?", "Is she/he/it suicidal?", "That is one very nifty hat you got there!" and "Knock knock? Is anybody home?". Oh yes, much much fun.

Overall, this convention was by far one of the best ever. Not only was it in better locals (with one kick ass stage we went out on during the cosplay show, omg, the nerves!), it was great cosplays, wonderful people and stuff acutally seemed to work. There were a few bad things, but over all, lovely.

There actually aren't any pictures in this post, but they will come up later when I acutually have found some good pictures. Seriously.

And under THIS cut, I'm going to ramble about some cosplay ideas. You can read if you want. You can not read if you don't want. I'm tired, and I haven't slept for nearly 35 hours. And I'm going to work tomorrow.

So, I acutally was thinking about my next cosplay. I want something that people can recognize, but still, I want something that isn't done that much. And these three, are what I'm thinking about right now.

Haruhara Haruko - FLCL
She is someone I've wanted to do for some time now, ever since I first got my eyes up for this wickedly good anime/manga. Haruko is such a cool girl, the only hard thing is her base guitar. But I suppose I can fix that in some way.

Mimiru - .hack//Sign
Also one of those girls that is really cool that I've wanted to cosplay. It would mean I would have to walk around in minimal clothing though, but I did Envy once, I can do someone with just a tad bit less clothes on, right?

Dio Elaclair - Last Exile
I'm pretty sure it's not many that have even seen Last Exile, but it would be really cool. I love the outfit, and Dio is such a lovely person. Sure, he is a guy, and I want to do a girl this time, but still. He's to cool to give up.

And these are just the ones I have right now. I'm pretty sure more will come up, but for now, these are the ones. Then I have a little more "original" cosplay, but I'm to tired to write about it. Really. I need sleep, and maybe, tomorrow, I can write about it and hopefully post a little pictures.
