Yet another morning spent sitting in traffic, stop and go all the way to Chase Tower in downtown Phoenix, and to pass the time, I'm listen to Johnjay and Rich's morning show... not because I like it, but because I can't seem to get myself to change the channel. They have segments like "second date update" (some girl calls in because she's obsessed with a guy she went on one date with and he hasn't called her), "war of the roses" (some girl calls in because she thinks her man is cheating on her), "what do you wish you didn't know about your parents sex life" (I think that one is self explainatory), etc. This radio show is the radio equivelant of popular TV shows that have no value to American Society, ie, Laguna Beach, Fear Factor, The Bachlor, etc. And don't get me started on their continuous (and purposeful) abuse of grammer... it's irritating, not funny.
Today listeners had the privledge of listening to "second date update" where some woman called in to tell us all about this wonderful date she had a week and a half ago, but for whatever reason the guy has now gone MIA. Fortunately for me, I arrived at work and turned of the radio at this point (seriously I need to find something better to listen to on the drive into work). I understand that it's dissapointing when you get all excited about a guy and find that it's not going to pan out the way that you hoped. Hell I am most definitely guilty of this, but why would you call into a radio show to tell the whole city about your man problems? Why would you want to go through the humiliating experiance of having Johnjay and Rich call the guy up to find out why he's been avoiding you? I mean, you know it never works out for the girl because the reasons are always the same, that basically, to steal the popular phrase: he's just not that into her. She knows it, we know it, so why bother?
I just think that it is so sad that a radio show has enough call ins for this segment, afterall, this segment has existed for years...
