when she uses the inter-office chat system to let you know she was creeping on you watching star trek at your desk, and you simultaneously comment on one of the main relationships of the series "yeah, i really liked them, but motherfucking consent issues, oh god!" (obviously not both in those exact words).
i'm disappointed we are not already secretly friends online, but you can't have everything.
on an almost completely unrelated note, but only to the extent that dessa is ever truly unrelated to any aspect of my life, holy actual fuck parts of speech is so good. like seriously blowing my mind good. there are a couple things i'm not 100% behind (like, i wish "annabelle" hadn't been sped up, and i wish "it's only me" hadn't been slowed down), but mainly i can't stop listening to it. bizarrely enough, the one i loop over and over the most is "the lamb" which should come with a trigger warning the size of russia. unfortunately, it may also be one of the best songs she's ever written, so i'm dealing with how uncomfortable it makes me because i literally cannot stop listening to it on repeat. it's totally some faulkner shit. i mean, it's not? but it definitely reminds me of faulkner. maybe kind of the way "momento mori" reminds me of the house of the spirits. or possibly more legit this time, whatever, i don't know her life.
