Huge irony in the fact that House and Time of my Life are my favourites so far, but maybe that's because I DON'T HAVE LUPERCALIA YET DDDDD': MY CRYS DO YOU SEE HOW PLENTIFUL THEY ARE?
Okay, so between that sentence and this one I HAVE BOUGHT LUPERCALIA :DDDDD And now I will proceed to listen and form a response for you AND THEN WE CAN TALK ABOUT THOR.
I definitely love the two of them. Actually, "house" is among my favorites really...but on first listen I was just like "meh..." I don't know! I heard "house" before the video came out, so maybe it was an unfinished version or something. But when I saw the video, I was like YES, THIS FUCKING SONGGGGG <3
I am excite for your opinions! I will try to formulate more coherent ones in the interim, because this is general flailing, and I swear I do actually have semi-intelligent thoughts!
JESUS this is too long for one comment OKAY so I have finally gotten a chance and I am listening to Lupercalia nownownow and I am going to go through it one by one, so prepare yourself for flail.
The City oh my god, I thought that The Magic Position was the happiest song ever but CLEARLY I AM WRONG. I have loved this song for weeks and now here it is on my itunes and I am flailing. PATRICK, I LOVE YOU AND YOUR PIANO IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR BEACH PARTY. This song is MADE OF HAPPY.
House I love the random 1980s nintendo game beginning to this song, and then suddenly ALL OF MY FEELINGS. Patrick your voice continues to baffle me. Also, this song is actually the sound of musty old books and poetry and Cornwall. And also MORE RANDOM PLACES TO PUT YOUR PIANO. Beach? Check. Jungle? Check. Jungle growing out of a house? CHECK. And then finally Patrick/violins, the original OTP.
Bermondsey Street okay, first song so far that I've not actually already heard so ajdhsjkfh. OH MY GOD IT SOUNDS LIKE MY LITTLE PONY ON A NINTENDO. I think Patrick

THE CITY YES, THIS, BASICALLY. It is like, I LOVE YOU 1950S BEACH PARTY WITH BEACH PIANO AND ALSO PARROTS. This song is ALL THE HAPPY and I just can't...it is wonderful and dancifying and aaaaahhhhh!!!
HOUSE BASICALLY I LOVE THIS FOREVER. The first time, I was like "well, whatever, it is kind of cheesy" and then I saw the video and it all came together and it makes me smile forever and I want to cuddle with it. I AGREE WITH YOUR ASSESSMENT.
BERMONDSEY STREET This one is so catchy and I sing it all the time at work, and everytime he says "he kisses him on Bermondsey Street, standing brave on the balls of his feet" I CANNOT STOP GRINNING ALL OVER MY FACE. And now I am imagining friendship/love ponies. THANKS FOR THAT. But "holds the sun in the palm of its hand and laughs down on the cynical man" is what I am talking about when I am talking about "Paris" and fffnnngggg <333
THE FUTURE YES, THE CRESCENDO, EXACTLY. IT IS SO TRIUMPHANT. LOVE IT FOREVER.
ARMISTICE I was not sure about the rhythm on this one, there is just something about
( ... )
I listened to it as I fell asleep last night and it was wonderful in the extreme. I agree that the video for The City is the 1950s + parrots, which is MORE PROOF that PWolf is a time traveller. Also there is more irony because The Sun Is Often Out is one of my favourites from The Bachelor and has been since my first listen, so I think we both love PWolf but approach him from different angles and then end up in the same place?? :DDD The Falcons is ACTUALLY AN OVEREXCITED PUPPY, this is the most accurate description ever.
That is really interesting and now I am curious about how you and I and everyone else approach PWolf, and what jumps out at us immediately, and where we all end up eventually. I kind of want to make a poll to see what everyone thinks, FOR SCIENCE.
HE IS SO A TIME TRAVELER. IT WAS NOT EXCITING OR CREATIVE ENOUGH FOR HIM TO MAKE ELECTROFOLKDISCO LOVESONGS. HE HAD TO INVENT TIME TRAVEL. THIS IS LEGIT WHAT I THINK OF HIS LIFE.
Gdi, I need more icon space. Also more icons. Of Patrick. Forever.
Time Of My Life Okay I already adoreadoreadore this song so I am very biased, but :DDDD More violins, because Patrick must always have violins. I just find this lovely to listen to, and the slight reverb and the guitar mixed with the drums and slightly electronic feel that's kept in the background. Also the chorus is just a brilliant piece of music and IT MAKES MY HEART HAPPY because it's...happily bitter? I don't know, I just know that I LOVE IT. This is the kind of song that would propel me down the street as I walk. The guitar in this is inexplicably wonderful. I AM GRINNING SO MUCH RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF THIS SONG.
The Days MORE VIOLINS, thank you Patrick. Now this sounds more like a lullaby, but it's still got that slight synth feel to it in the background. My, Patrick does like reverb, doesn't he? But it sounds awesome so that is OKAY. Oh, it's a bit like a waltz! Actually it's a lot like a waltz, that's what it reminds me off! It's beautifully sleepy as a song and then you have the easy energy of Patrick's vocals over the top.

I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD READ THIS YET BECAUSE I AM BASICALLY WRITING UP THE SAME THINGGGG. I HAVE CALMED DOWN SLIGHTLY (JFC, I HAVE BEEN SITTING ON THIS FOR LIKE A WEEK OKAY) AND AM NOW READY TO TALK ABOUT TONE AND CADENCE AND COHESION AND HOW THIS ALBUM FITS WITH THE REST OF THEM THEMATICALLY.
I AM ACTUALLY NOT THAT CALM.
ALL THE HEARTS!!!
(okay. okay, i will read this now. because whateverrrr)
I LOVE IT, I CAN'T EVEN, I AM SO GLAD HE WAITED AND DIDN'T JUST DO THE BACHELOR/CONQUEROR DOUBLE ALBUM BECAUSE I WANTED IT AT THE TIME, BUT HAVING HEARD WHAT THIS TURNED INTO, HE MADE THE ABSOLUTE CORRECT CHOICE <33333333
