This will be the first time I watch the film I'm uploading, too. I'm going to have a look at it now so I can make screencaps. My dad lent it to me and he made me watch a particular scene he loves which rivals the projection booth scene.
I'M EXCITED. I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL.
\O/ Hey you, piecesofalice and me should totally get together in an lj and watch IB and make funny comments as we watch the movie. I do this with a couple of friends while we watch Glee and Community (and lately Skins) and IT IS AWESOME.
Purple Butterfly, starring Ziyi Zhang. She's part of a resistance group, Purple Butterfly, in Japanese occupied Shanghai in the 1930s. Her former lover is Japanese and has become an officer with secret police group, and he's assigned the task of dismantling Purple Butterfly.
I've been re-visiting quite a bit of Asian cinema, some of which I'll borrow from my dad, such as Lady Vengeance.
I'll have it up some point tomorrow. Ziyi, from what I've seen so far, is wonderful in it; she's communicating so much with just her facial expressions alone. And of course, I love these nearly impossible, against-all-odds kind of romances.
NO, IT WON'T. I'M BOTH EXCITED AND FRIGHTENED. THERE WILL BE LOTS OF "SHO/FRED FUCK YEAH!" AND MUCH LOLLING AT THE BITCHFACE BATTLE BETWEEN ARCHIE AND HELLSTROM.
Ziyi is such an amazing actress! I adore her. And against-all-odds romances are way better than the predictable "oh we're so perfect for each other and everybody and their mothers know it" romances.
ME TOO. HAHA IT'LL BE INSANE AND FANTASTIC. We need to pick a date and work out the time zones and everything :)
I was telling my dad about all of the criticism she receives in China, including her acting, so he sat me down and made me watch the pivotal scene between her and her former lover and Ziyi impressed me even further. The film is sparse on dialogue and is visually driven. It should be uploaded in the next hour or so.
I told Clint I love those kinds of romances in film and he told me to watch Cary Grant films instead.
YES YES YES. Tuesday, Thursday, and every other Friday nights work for me, along with every other weekend (for example, this weekend I'm off from work). We will have to harass piecesofalice.
Also, I'm glad you watched Casablanca! Aside from the fact that I love Bogart and Bergman (and her daughter, Isabella), I LOVE Conrad Veidt and Claude Rains is awesome, too.

HELL YEAH!
(as you can see I'm also excited with ~*sparkly*~ text)
