Susp's Review: GENERATIONS BLACK SHADOW

Dec 01, 2011 22:59

Black Shadow (AKA Sky Shadow) is a vile and vicious gangster who supposedly unnerves even Megatron. With Strength and Endurance of only 6, however, methinks Megs need not worry too much.

This review is dedicated to my friends Darlene, Dennis, and Noni.

Vehicle Mode: Black Shadow is a retool of Thunderwing, which makes sense given that the Black Shadow toy from Victory was a retool of G1 Thunderwing. He’s coloured black with assorted gold and dark grey parts, a translucent red canopy, and red and metallic silver accents. His launchers are grey with translucent red missiles.

Black Shadow’s detachable drone is entirely black with a translucent red sensor and red stripes. Despite his lack of Decepticon symbols in this mode, his colour scheme makes him look a good deal more menacing than Thunderwing.

Robot Mode: Black Shadow is an attractive yet sinister combination of black, grey, and dark grey with red and white accents. His finely sculpted head is black with metallic silver for his horns and face and translucent red lightpiping. He also features a metallic silver chest plate with a yellow panel and a tiny purple Decepticon symbol.

In terms of plastic quality, there doesn’t appear to be any degradation. Black Shadow’s joints are nice and stiff.

Overall, Susp Sez: With his dark colour scheme and fearsome visage, Black Shadow manages to surpass Thunderwing. Highly recommended whether you own the latter or not. 4.5/5
