Oil Slick has the dubious distinction of being the only TF in the Animated line to not show up in the cartoon to date. Hopefully, he'll be showing up in Season 3. And in the mean time, he's slated to appear in IDW's comic series.
Vehicle Mode: Oil Slick is a four-wheeled chopper. Measuring about 15 cm(5.9") long, he's a nice combination of army green, pear green, metallic green-yellow, and black. His handlebars are black and tea green and he has pale green dials and headlight. Mounted on his front is a sinister-looking black ram skull with beady pale green eyes and tea green horns. The two storage canisters that attach under his saddlebags are black with tea green rims. It's a rather toxic-looking colour scheme, which fits with his bio.
Between the ram skull and the many spikes on his body, Oil Slick looks like a rugged and dangerous ride. He rolls nicely on carpet, but less so on smooth surfaces. His handlebars, which are composed of rubberised plastic, are extremely floppy.
Transformation: Swing the ram skull to the left, split apart the front of the chopper, and lower the halves to either side. Flip out the knuckles and thumbs. Raise the seat, split apart the robot legs, extend them, and fold down the exhaust pipes. Finally, open the panel on the back and flip out Oil Slick's head.
Robot Mode: One of the smallest, slightest Decepticons in the Animated line, Oil Slick stands 16 cm(6.3") tall. As a robot, he's primarily army and pear green. His knuckles are tea green and his feet are metallic green-yellow. On his chest are a black Decepticon symbol and a tribal-style "tattoo." His head, interestingly, is encased within a translucent toxic green dome. Perhaps his inevitable recolour will end up being blue and white as a homage to Mr. Freeze. Beneath the dome is a black head with a tea green face, translucent green lightpiping, and metallic green-yellow bolts imbedded in the cranium.
Like Prowl, Oil Slick's wheels are incorporated into his body, giving him almost no vehicle kibble whatsoever. His head rotates 360 degrees, his shoulders and thumbs are ball-jointed, his thighs swivel, his knuckles and knees bend, and his elbows are hinged in two places, making him one of the very few TFs who can clasp his fingers together in sinister calculation or desperate prayer. Due to the design of his shoulders, his arms cannot rotate backwards. Oil Slick's two canisters peg securely into his palms. One of them splits apart to become a flail weapon held together by a grey plastic chain. The other has a flip-open lid, perfect for carrying powerful acids or poison gas. It probably also makes a nice beerstein, although good luck chugging with that fishbowl attached.
Overall, Susp Sez: With a neat chopper mode, good transformation, and creepy-looking robot mode with fun accessories, Oil Slick is a great addition to your Animated collection. 9/10
