(no subject)
Happy solstice, all!
So far this summer (lol, well, you know what I mean, being as summer just started today) has been a bit of a let down for us all. We honestly haven't done a single thing! We have a burn ban in place most afternoons, so camping really seems pointless. The pool's filter has broke 4 times in the last few weeks, and the outdoors pool has been closed all month. Perhaps sometime this week we will go to Ridgeway and swim at the dam. We are having such a drought though, I am not even sure if the swim beach is still open.
I have been thinking about buying one of those back yard pools, just not sure I want to deal with the hassle of it. I suppose I could put up the EZcanopy I have around it to keep out most of the leaves and crap.
I do need to call Brenda and get together. lol, as usual, we have let a month go by. Summers are always hard to find time in though. They are a farm family and have fields both north of us and west of us that take up most of their free time.
I have been running quite a bit. It is kinda getting repetitive. Probably should take my bike in for a tune up and try to ride some. Somehow I lost one of the receivers to the exercise game we have for the sony. :| I have torn my room apart looking for it, but it is just gone! It may have fallen in the winter clothes, but I haven't been able to talk myself into going through them.... even though I really should.
I still need to go through the school room. I did pick up a vocab, history and a science course for next year though. One of the charter schools are moving buildings and were giving away books last week. All I really need to find is a grammar and spelling book for Eli and a math course for both of them. 5th and 6th grade! How on earth did that happen!!??? Got Eli's test results back and he scored well above average on everything but math computation, which was in the lower section of average. I thought he really raced through that section (lol, next to the last, can't say I blame him) so I imagine it was more carelessness than anything else. :| oh well, his over all score was exactly the same as his 3rd grade score. lol, he will just be slightly above average I guess. :p
